I thought I'd clean this up a tad.

The hero, Oni, a thirty-five year old male, starts out as a General in the Nadir Army. Certain events conspire to put an end to that. He wanders for awhile, becoming a Ronin type character. He settles down, gets married, and wants to live happily ever after. Of course, life works nothing like that. After seeing his wife slaughtered in front of his eyes, he turns once again to wandering. Of course, in true classic RPG fashion, he discovers many things, which leads to a journey of self-discovery. Along the way, he meets a few companions, who travel with him, and give him strength.

The game takes place on a planet I haven't named yet. There are five major countries, with various independent city/states scattered about. All of the continents have histories, detailing how they were founded, and how they grew into the superpowers that they are today.

As of 2/2/10, there are 3 gamelong subquests going on. One about how you interact with certain people, one about a fairytale book series, and one about feeding an orphan and (hopefully) keeping him alive.
There are a few more in the planning stages. There are more than three subquests, it's just that those three last the entire game.

There will not be a lot of minigames, seeing as how I really don't care for them. There will be a few, though.

Going and going

Ok, maybe a little longer than a week or three. I seem to have gotten caught with XP. So I'm flipping back and forth between them. It cracks me up, how many times I have to go back and change something. I'll find a new way, or a better way. It is indeed a learning process. So, just a couple more towns to build, finish the sidequests, and make the last couple of bosses, and I'm done. I've put God knows how many hours into this thing, so I hope it turns out well.

I first read the text beneath the title as "A game about the redemption of one man's shirt."
Maybe it is. Maybe it's a whole game about laundering, or lack thereof. All the bosses give you quarters,
to use in the washer, or to waste on candy.
I can't take any story seriously, that is conveyed via RTP. I just can't. It's not the fault of the story, or the game, it's just that.... It's RTP, we've played thousands of games with RTP and eventually, they all look the same. "Oh look, there's default RTP hero Zack but now his name is Bob".
Actually, growing trends have made RTP more fresh looking and REFMAP/Rudra more boring and generic... but it's all a matter of how you use them. YDS uses REFMAP with amazing skill and Balmung uses Rudra cohesively. Liberty's RTP games are always super amazing looking and Hero's Realm is quite gorgeous.

@ Aten: Why not just let it fall to the wayside instead of coming on in and dropping anti-RTP comments? Surely there are more important things to do right now, eh? There is absolutely nothing wrong with RTP, since it has become more of a breath of fresh air than "Oh joy, ANOTHER game using Star Ocean graphics mixed with Rudra characters and FFVI monsters.", or any other game that falls on that shit.
The one thing I will say about RTP is that it forces the designer to get creative with the limitations that he is presented with. A game, after all, should be story and gameplay first, graphics second. Plus, it's all about how a person uses the RTP, and how well of a mapper he can be.
