Most Promising Demo 2022!

Thanks to everyone who voted! It is my hope that the full game lives up to the promise. Thank you to everyone who has played, and everyone who has shared their thoughts on the game with me. It's been extremely motivating and very fulfilling to see all this work enjoyed.

I took a bit of a break after putting out the demo, really only opening the project to fix bugs or tweak some things. But development has started back up and I'm really excited for everyone to see what's coming.

Thanks again everyone.

I keep wanting to write a blog or something to broadcast an update to the world, but whenever I sit down to do it, I keep thinking, "Well, maybe after I finish this thing I'm working on..." which naturally leads to more things to work on, so the blog never happens. Look. Things are being worked on every day, alright?

Oh shoot, somehow I totally missed this even though it was in the Misaos! The Looming Spire is back? <.<

Man, I haven't played this yet but, how did you manage to do this in rpg2003?? seriously

These days I leverage a 3rd party patch known as the Maniacs Patch, which includes a ton of powerful features, which made designing all the menus a ton easier, and simplified a lot of the eventing on the map, but much of this game's combat and other systems were built using just plain ol' 2k3 features. If you want to dig through the project itself to glean how certain things were done, I wholly welcome it!

But if uhhh be warned that it is NOT organized very well. It's very bad.

There's a bug in the room where you get the Fire Rune, the note on the right can't be read due to an invisible wall blocking the way.

Yes, thank you! If you're curious, all that note says is "Spells take time to cast, and enemies can attack you while casting".

Woo! I hope you enjoy!

Wow, hell yes, thank you! I will address those last two issues asap.
Congrats on releasing the demo! I gave it a quick try and am really enjoying it so far :D

The timing-based battle system is great. It took me a few tries to get the combo and parry timing right but it's fair. I like that elemental attacks are available early on and can make a huge difference. Is there or will there be a way to have some control over what element is granted?

I also appreciate how you've made the maps but maybe they can be improved a little more by adding clearer entrances/exits, where gimmicks (such as spider webs) are, and treasure chests (all or only the ones we opened)?

The intro is solid and entertaining. I really liked the scene where the spire lights up and what followed.

I'm still watching this, too. Saw the relics thing and was an instant follow. Great stuff here.

Been a while since the last update...is this still on track to a 12/31/2019 release? I've been anticipating it for quite a while! ^^

This looks really really super cool! I'm excited for this. In particular, the implementations of the relics look rad. Subbed.
