Game Gale Edition Now Available

The Game Gale download is now up and available. It's not quite as polished as I would prefer, but every ending is currently achievable (baring some freak bug that popped up since the last 5 times we tested most of it, which if it were to pop up anywhere, it would be in the Hyde ending). Most of what was left out was pretty minor: a couple flavor npcs and people actually commenting when you throw items that they don't care about at them. Well, I suppose there is the one aspect I kept forgetting about that was left out: music outside of the main castle theme.

The current goal is to take any feedback we receive, as well as the elements that were left out and make a deluxe version sometime in the near future. We've also been talking about making a few variations in the endings so that there can be multiple ways to achieve each. We just didn't have the time for such an addition for Game Gale. As such, I'm not going to mark this game as complete until the deluxe version is finished.

I also plan to write a walkthrough at some point, but until I do, feel free to ask for tips here. You can also talk to one of the servant girls that are wandering almost every map of the castle; they offer helpful tips that might help get you back on track. As well, you can show them an item to get a hint as to the purpose of it.

Completely optional, but I'm highly curious as to which ending you guys get.

I had my sister play the game when we got home. She managed to bug out a few things in a humourous way by running the Erol and Gil endings at the same time.
She had an invisible Gil in the quarters--and funked out Gil's ending entirely after the convo in the kitchen.
At this point though, I just laughed and took it in stride--I'll explain in greater detail to you later just how she managed to pull that off when you get home. ((A small overlooked possibility on our part lol ))

She quite enjoyed the game though. :3 And to curve your curiosity, got the Erol ending on her first play through, and then speed played to get Gil's.

Had to share this with you now while the memory was still fresh. : D

I found some things related to the Erol path:

- in the third place where you look for that somebody sometimes a guard will be there, sometimes the person you're looking for; I had no problem the first time around with this, but now that I was trying to replicate the whole path, I also found that even when the person you're looking for is there, the event doesn't occur and you can actually walk into them
- the first time I played, when I went back to get Erol once I had found the final place of the person sought, I tried to interact with him but he wouldn't respond (this was facing from below) and I walked into Erol, when I faced him from the left, he finally responded (this was what I was trying to reproduce just now before I got to the error above)

Did the Claire path with no problem.
Playing it now inbetween photoshop tasks for a client. Wish they'd stop pestering me...I'm loving this game!

Thanks for mentioning using the items on maids to get info. That's very useful

I found another issue:

When using a certain item (the earliest I found) on MR, the event occurs, but so far, I haven't been able to pick up the object dropped.

Make sure you are standing beside the item and not on top of it. n.n You should be able to pick it up then.

I wonder if it would be better if we let you pick it up from the side and while standing on top?

Thanks, got it. The most logical thing would be for the game to let you pick it up while standing on it. The other option would only apply if you couldn't walk on top of it. In a sense, the earlier option is easier, since it doesn't depend on the way you are facing. I guess it's just what I have normally seen for such type of objects.

EDIT: BTW, I did it again to see what would happen and something was dropped again, but this one I couldn't pick up at all, as I expected.
I'm really happy to hear you're enjoying Megan_Hunter! :)

And thanks for all the bug reports edchuy. I have currently fixed everything you have reported in my copy of the game. Unsurprisingly, a lot of these are things that were evented yesterday or the day before and thus were not tested as much.

And a side note: the person you were seeking is supposed to change locations at random, though there was an issue with that person appearing after they should have.

I got another ending and also found the way out. Will the latter affect what occurs for the other endings? I am thinking of whether I should go back to one of my older saves to do that or not.
The way out is an ending all it's own. It does not affect anything else.

Yes, I figured it out. Thanks though!

I just managed that as well!

EDIT: I guess there was only one possible ending I wasn't able to figure out, unless it really isn't.
At a guess, the ending you couldn't figure out was the one for the person you were seeking back in the first post? (It's, in my opinion, by far the hardest.) There is a grand total of 9 endings, though two of them are very similar and use the same picture.
Man, that's game where you chase after boys that I enjoy, even though i probably shouldn't (as a male) :P
There's a number of bugs like invisible people, but nothing game breaking.
I think I'm only missing one ending.

SPOILER (how to make font white again?:P)

I'm pretty sure Conrad has the second key and i must use a cat to get it, but i don't know how or where:(
It is one part of game I want to rework a little bit in the deluxe version because it is a little arbitrary and not as clear as it should be.

SPOILER below
If you just want a hint:
You are correct. You need to use the cat where he cannot see you, as he has too much pride to chase after a cat if he knows someone is around.

If you want an answer:
Use the cat on the corner tile directly down from his room. You need to be standing to the left of it. Also, don't get seen :) Hopefully you know where I mean otherwise I'll take a screenshot when I get home from work.
Thanks to your help i somehow managed, and yes, you really should do something about that part as it's nearly impossible to figure it out without help/guide.

Thanks, Rachael. I guess that's not as obvious a way. I knew it was related to him. Another question related to that, is there something to fend of Erol or is that it? (I lost count of the number of endings I have so far!)
Yup, there is indeed a way to stop Erol. The very thing he is afraid of, assuming you picked it back up.

Oh, yeah forgot about that! I guess that the most useful item in the game and the fuzziest as well! :-)
It is indeed the only the item in the game that has two uses, unless you count a certain item that can be given to two different people :)

Actually, that would be 3 different ways to use. No wonder one NPC loves it so much (secretly), another would like to see it gone and yet another is terrified of it.

Yeah, I know about the other item as well.

Of all endings, the one in the courtyard was my favorite. (I see it as influenced by Shrek!)

I guess that's all she wrote! I look forward to the deluxe version when you guys decide to make it. One thing I thought I would like to see is the King ...
