Paradise Blue

My only real beef is the story. Not the quality, but...I'm not sure what the hell's going on! Why do we have to take out some dude? I'm past the swamps, but even now I'm unsure what the overal objective of the protagonists are. I took another look at the opening scene to try to get some perspective, but a lot of names are being said without any elaboration on the general situation.
