Out of curiosity, I did a test to see if the editor will run in WINE. It generally does and does fast. By comparison, RPG Maker 2003 runs incredibly slow when you try to scroll and map edit, and the font is always messed up (when running the game).

I did find a bug when trying to set the system font (it crashes) but I can probably fix that. So if you're on Linux, then run the editor in WINE.

The engine may or may not be ported to Linux- it's not a high priority. It kind of needs to be able to make RPGs first!
