This is a very old demo of a futuristic mecha RPG I worked on after Legacies Of Dondoran. You can start a new game, or load the saves for examples of features that the demo has, but can't be reached by starting a new game. Probably has some loose ends, sorry about that.

New game: Actual game
Save 1: Full party with full abilities, try em out
Save 2: Walk around the starship, which was to be the campaign mode vehicle
Save 3: Starmap, mission select, tons of lore that never got used

It is cancelled forever, but my current project is its spiritual successor in many ways.

Enjoy!

Too bad about it being cancelled, this looks ridiculously awesome.

Glad you enjoyed it ;)
Why is it always the really good looking games that get canceled??????

Well this was around the time I was dithering about making LoD2, going indie, or whatever else. Honestly, the game wasn't going anywhere. I put tons of effort into creating a world setting, but really had no idea how it would play out. I felt as though the demo sufficiently communicated the idea and it was time to move onto something with more promise of being actually finished.

Yep been sitting around on my hard drive for many years... RMN's really the only viable place to share it anymore. :P
Alex Tyranos pilots a mech.
He's obviously had quite enough of Jindark's $hit.

Hahaha, I didn't really get far enough to characterize anyone, but hey we can pretend that is Alec Tyranos :P

I assure you I'm no where NEAR as STUPID as one might think.

Well you know, maybe you should come back to this someday. This looks like something that would really be something big. If you don't know how it would play out, just get a group you trust, together, and talk things out.
I really enjoyed this for what it was and found it quite innovative and charming.
I suppose it's a good thing someone necropost this, because apparently I missed giving this mecha game a shot.

I will certainly steal every resources in there.

s_w not the music please...

But in terms of the mechas in combat, I used various parts of Front Mission 1 wanzers and edited them together. Pretty easy to do yourself with an emulator and photoshop.

Can't remember where the tilesets are from but they are certainly ripped from something...

The planets in the planet menu are actually from Rock 'N Roll Racing. :D

It has a good, Breath of Fire and Suikoden feel from what I've seen from the battle screen shot.

Now, it really isn't something that should be canceled forever. A project like this can always be redone using what you got to make it easier on you. It is a very 'interesting' game. Anything Suikoden/ Breath of Fire related in any sense, I love XD

My mind is full of fuck.

Played it, seems interesting.
It makes me sad you said canceled forever, this looked like a lot of fun. May I ask what your current project is? I'd probably want to check that out at some time but I don't see it in your games, just LoD 1-2, and this.

Even if you don't intend to finish this yourself, you could easily hand it over to someone else interested in it and allow them to pick up where you left off, seems like a shame to let whats been done go to waste when it held so much promise.

Note that.

Also if you still want to work with mechs sprites from FM 1, well, they have every wanzer (I think) ripped now in The spriter resource. Both view.

I haven't been allowed to post my recent projects here (Deadly Sin 1/2) because they're commercial games. My current project is also commercial, and is a metroidvania action RPG.

As far as passing it off, I'd rather it just stay quietly in the archives of the past. I'm using much of Outworld's lore in current or future projects. :)

I don't really see why you'd not be able to post your games, if they are yours. I personally don't see the point in not allowing you to do so.

It is your game, after-all, and your games so far have been good. It kind of is like a slap in the face, in my opinion, if I work so hard on the games I place up on here, then when I do work on more and they happen to be commercial games, I'm not allowed to do it.

To me, it is kind of disrespectful to the gaming community; to both the consumer(s) and the developer(s).

Well for a while the aim of the site had been specifically for freeware games. I can understand that to some extent.

As an indie developer, it is a difficult line to cross between being a businessperson and being a member of a niche freeware community.
