Ten years ago, a great evil was unleashed unto the world. Sealed for over one thousand years, this evil threatened to seize control over both Celestia and Earth. Joined by eleven other friends, the Celestial Prince managed to successfully defeat the foe. The world was saved, and everything returned to normal...until now.

ERIC VENTURA, top cop of Rodger City, is sent on a mission to protect Jazz singer KYON-LEI KWON from a mysterious stalker who goes by the alias, "FACE." Eric's task takes an unexpected turn for the worse when he's suddenly confronted by a horrifying demon. Saved by an unidentified voice, Eric is given a unique set of powers, and saves the Jazz singer.

Soon after, Eric learns about the TWELVE DEMONS of CHAOS, twelve gods who each ruled over their own world in the dimension of Realm. Their corrupted society eventually led to their downfall, and fearing of their defeat, they created three CHAOS STONES, where they hid and fled into a new dimension...Earth.

Using human flesh as a disguise, these demons walk among the earth, some aware of their ability, some not. If the twelve demons are reunited, their original form will return... as well as their hunger for galatic domination.

Eric and Face race to find these demons, though the battle lines aren't as defind as you'd think, once motives become clear and manipulation sinks in. Can Eric and his friend trust the voice guiding them.....or does the voice have a motive of its own?

This game has reached 10,000 DLs in four months, according to MediaFire. I'm sure most people prob receive that much a day, but for me that's pretty good. =P

I don't know the specific place where the downloads are all coming, though apparently the highest number of downloads are in Sweden (!) which makes me suspect that the game has found its way onto several Swedish sites (whore).

Nonetheless, I'm really happy and special thanks to everyone who downloaded! This may actually become my highest downloaded (overall) game ever. *gasp*

It could be Adware but it's definetly not a virus.
I have System Suite 10 but I'm not sure if it sees it as a worm file, but why only 3 games out of dozens I've downloaded?

I'm sure you didn't upload a virus- it's either my AV program or a ADfile/bug in RMN.

btw, great game! I'm about half way through it now.
I see...................................

Well, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the game so far!

Hey Max, I just downloaded Shrine of Kammuki, and scanned the RPG_RT.exe with VirusTotal, a free service that scans small files with 41 different anti-virus programs and shows you the results for each of them:
http://www.virustotal.com/

And only 1 of the 41 anti-virus came back positive for a virus, which means it is a FALSE POSITIVE.

You should submit the RPG_RT.exe file to your anti-virus tech support so they can confirm that it's a false positive and resolve the problem.

Here's SystemSuite 10's support page--click where it says email support at the bottom of the page and send them an e-mail:
http://www.avanquest.com/USA/aq-you/support/index.html
Avanquest says to uninstall and re-install the software, '~' , bummer

.....sorry for the false alarm, it's probably the antivirus program acting up.
Uh huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

Well, that's good to hear...
I hope you enjoy it!

Let me know what you think -- negative or positive.
Okay, based on the review I read and what I see in the screenshots, I get the feeling that it's in need of another review.

Now all I have to do it remember to download and play it. If you don't hear back from me in a little while, yell at me please.
Thank you for the comment. Feedback is of course greatly appreciated, negative or positive. =D

Also, something to keep in mind -- some of these screenshots (well, a lot of them) are pretty outdated, so if you like what you see, hopefully the game won't disappoint.

And besides, that review was from the OLD version of this game, not the new version that was released in June.

I look forward to hearing from you!
Well, upon rereading the review that the game already has, there's really no reason for me to write another one as it would pretty much be a carbon copy.

The battles in the game are just a slam on enter affair, and with how crazy powerful the second boss is, I really don't much feel like fighting tons more slam on enter battles in order to beat it.

There are reasons for this, however. I love modern games, so I generally tend to give them all a shot, including this one and I was having fun playing with the modern, mature setting and good story. However, the moment I was told that there were crystals that can destroy the world right after getting a sword, I had very little motivation to continue. I don't want swords and all powerful magic crystals in my modern setting games, we get more than enough of that as it is from all other standard RPGs.

In the beginning of the game I could happily play along with the otherwise dull battles since the setting and story were worth it. However, the combined thought of having to go and do a bunch of enter mashing random battles in order to beat a crazy hard second boss, in addition to fantasy cliches in a modern setting just killed the interest for me.

It really is too bad too, because the amount of effort you've put into this game is clearly apparent and I'd like to continue, I just don't want to grind monsters for another hour or so to move on.

By the way, doors take waaaaaaay too long to go into.
Thanks for the comment! One question though, which version are you playing, the standard or the current version (the Special Edition)? Because I just played through the entirety of the second dungeon (of the Special Edition, that is) -- without buying any new equipment. By the time I completed the dungeon, all of my characters were at level 8 without needing to grind. I fought the boss and beat him pretty quickly, so he wasn't challenging to me. I only had to heal Blaze's and Phoebe's EPs once, and I rarely healed my character's health points, and I still beat him pretty easily. But I'll reply to each of your points to see what went wrong.

1) You don't have to use the sword as your primary weapon if you don't want to. The gun doesn't suddenly become obsolete after you get the sword. You're meant to use both of them, because Eric's Shot-based techniques have certain advantages over his Bladed-based techniques, and vice versa.

2) The game is specifically designed so that you don't have to grind. Ever. If you WANT to grind, you CAN, but it is NEVER needed.

However, this game does assume that you did fight almost every encounter at least once. That said, it didn't take into consideration the purchasing of new equipment, nor does it assume that you've completed the optional quests/obtained secret items, etc. Keep in mind that: there aren't that many encounters getting in your way per map, the game gives you a lot of money and items are dirt cheap, you can save anywhere you want and there are healing crystals galore. This game does not want to torture you! lol

BUT......YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR SKILLS! =P If you expected to button mash enter your way through this game, then I'm not surprised you ran into trouble. ;p

First off, Eric, Blaze and Phoebe can one-hit-kill every single enemy in the second dungeon with their skills. Secondly, right when you run out of EP -- viola, there's a healing crystal right in front of you. Third, you were free to leave that dungeon to buy new items and return again if you were low on supplies.

Re: Second-Boss - if you fought him at level 8 or even 7, you were 100% fine. Did you really grind for an hour to beat him? O.O At level 8, Eric's, Blaze's and Phoebe's techniques should have had them dishing out around 300 hit points each. Three or four solid turns of that should've been enough to kill him. Granted, you might have needed to spend a turn or two to heal your party (if that).

This game is not -- and I repeat -- NOT about some random chosen warrior who gets a sword who must save the world from magic crystals. Also, it is never stated that the Chaos Stones will 'destroy the world'. What they do is cause mankind to basically run wild. When all three are used, they completely obliterate man's self-consciousness and self-awareness. Man will lose the ability to think about their actions first and consider the sequences of their behavior.....they will literally do whatever they feel like doing at that moment... which can eventually lead to several nonsense wars breaking out between countries all over the world thus subsequently resulting in the destruction of Earth (physically caused by man, not the stones themselves--although they played a somewhat indirect role in that occurrence). So yeah, that's what the Chaos Stones do and that's what makes them extremely dangerous. They heighten man's animal instincts and destroy what makes us human -- the ability to think, reason and feel remorse.

I reeeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to say anything else because I don't want to spoil you but the game's plot changes within every dungeon. The ending sequences are vastly different from the beginning sequences. I'll just say that. Admittedly, the first two or so hours are a little slow, but the game picks up immediately after that.

In short, keep playing (pretty please?)! I think what happened is that the first dungeon/boss were so easy, that all you had to do was button mash, so when you got to the second dungeon the difficulty spike was rather...noticeable, to say the least. However, that dungeon was meant to let players know the importance of using their skills. There are a lot of RPGs where you can press enter all day and call it a day..................but this isn't one of them. ;)

I mean, sure, you CAN enter-mash through every regular encounter.......but the battles would take sooo long. It just wouldn't be worth it when you can just knock them out with one or two shots using your magic/techniques. =P

I hope that helped.
I'm playing whatever version is the main download on the button.

My characters were level 5 on the second boss and poison is completely overpowered in RM2k3 so my guys were just dying over and over regardless of healing items or skills used.

Also, I did not fight every fight that was offered to me because they, along with the dungeon itself (not too keen on long hallway dungeons with no variety), were boring. If I had to make some decisions in the battles with monsters that were just walking around it may have been different, but I didn't feel like grinding out a bunch of "hit enter" battles in order to be a high enough level to kill the boss.

I really think the problem with the game is one that's not even your fault. I think your game would have been much better had you used a turn based battle system rather than RM2k3's not-so-great ABS battle system. I know you don't really have an option there, so I don't hold that against you at all... it's just kinda bleh.

I'll try and work up the motivation to come back to it... provided I didn't delete the folder already. I don't remember if I did or not since I'm at work.

I loved that game( incidentally had been looking for it for a while now!). I'll say this : to me, you're reference, as rpgmaker games go, like Lys86 , and 1 or 2 others, and maybe not that many, you really have it, whatever it is, no doubt.
Thanks man! I really appreciate that. =)

I make the kind of games that I myself would like to play. I soak in all the feedback I am given, and strive to get better.
