Prototype Release Notes

Hooray, the download's been accepted! \o/ I personally don't want to call this a demo because it's considerably shorter than I'd like it to be. (however, the point of the event is to get something out there!) So I want to call this thing a prototype; you can sample some basic gameplay features and the first bit of the storyline.

This prototype is also a test of making the game standalone. I've already re-imported most of the RTP stuff that I'm using (mostly sound effects and animations), but I'd like to know if this game runs fine for those who do not have the VX RTP installed. Please let me know if you get missing file errors or something.

Some known minor issues that I didn't have the time to fix:
- The "Queen's Guard" enemy may turn around sometimes in battle
- Hard mode enemy behavior hasn't been implemented yet
- Charset enemy graphics do not appear in the scan windows
- A missing transfer event in the palace garden. It tended to break the cutscene that occurs right after it for some reason!

Here's a list of what's in store for future releases of the game:
- Device crafting.
- Completing sidequests. You can find two in the prototype, but they currently cannot be finished yet.
- Exclusive skill sets for characters. For example, Moshi can repair machinery and learn new skills from them. And Leiko can get ammo that's effective against certain enemy types--sorta like the gun mages in FFX-2, but where that game used MP, you'll need the special ammo in your inventory in this game.
- More music by Happy. He's been working on the town theme for Dejanor, and it's coming along great!

So now I'm gonna take a little break, and I hope you enjoy what's been done so far. :)

Hello! I downloaded the prototype and began playing a while ago. However, I've encountered a certain problem twice. Right after Officer Lorenz and the Rookie dude sees the tent, they immediately head to the left of the screen. The first time around, the two of them just got...stuck there. The second time, the Rookie's char sprite disappeared at the edge and Officer Lorenz's got stuck beside the cliff. Help? D:

The scene with the lone tent? It's probably an error on my part with a move route or passability settings. I'll look into it, though! It happened randomly to me while testing, and I didn't have time to figure out why. D:

Try leaving the garden while facing down, hopefully that'll fix it.
Okay, so I finally got past that bug. :3 First, let me say that this game is incredibly pretty. I love the steampunk feel and the tilesets are beautiful. The amount of work that went to this game is evident. With those said, I spotted a couple of little things (other than the weird 'stuck' bug with Lorenz and the Rookie):

*The boy at the 2nd Floor of the Agora Hotel can get stuck on the door and won't leave, trapping the player inside the room D:

*The lines in the physician's journal entries are cut.

I'm definitely waiting for the complete release of this game! Keep it up! :3
