There is now a website you can use to share your custom content with other users! But you're still welcome to use this page to share and discuss content.

Below is a list of finished custom (user-made) content. To add these characters, in most cases you can extract the downloaded file to the game's main directory and you're set. Depending on how the author has organized them, it may be necessary to move files to the appropriate directories. (Custom content has not been tested by me)
Note: After new content has been added, old saves won't be compatible.

If you have posted custom content in this thread, I will (eventually) add your link to the list above, along with a small screenshot if you have included one. Be sure to test your content in-game before posting.

Helpful things:

--> Medium build girl, the .psd that was used to create the built-in characters, is available with layer names in English.

--> Not feeling artistic? You can use any of these images for making custom characters.

--> Notepad++ with syntax highlighting for Heartache 101 can be a big help with story creation.

--> If you are writing story content that includes the appearance of existing characters (built-in or custom), the following list may be of reference:
ID 0 = The Player
ID 1 = Nakajima Miki
ID 2 = Ikeda Keika
ID 3 = Onishi Tsubasa
ID 4 = Kaneshiro Shihoko
ID 5 = Kaneshiro Riho

*edit2* God the answer was so simple. I cut/copied your eyes from your neutral model and took the mouths from flowerthief models and blended it together. I think youwill be pleased.

Niiiiiice, Dude! Respect +15! You know what this means, though. I have to re-playtest Masako to include her "reminisce" pose as OTHER1. Oh well!

Still, if I want to do more with this game in general, I should probably get GIMP, and play around in general. Though I'll still probably be lost with the readme file that came with the PSD being read as ASCII characters rather than Japanese characters. Meh, I'll figure something out!
marernd download my masako worsksheet. i renamed all the layers in english, with a couple typos here and there, but you should manage.

a few notes: selective layer, the one all the way on top, controls masako hair color. you can brighten /darken/recolor etc from that one.

below that is masako eyes small, which is the eyes i copied pasted from your model. since the worksheet is unedited in size, these eyes will appear small if you enable it. the idea is, you make a new model, resize it, then slap on the eyes.

body outline and skin color should remain visible always.

@ flowerthief

check your PMs. I sent you the new keika image urls.
I was also wondering, is there any way to change the part in all the endings where you haven't seen the girl in years? I was hoping to kind of avoid that minor detail for my character's story.

Having the layers named in an understandable format would be helpful! But even without that, I think I did pretty good starting from basically scratch, with bare minimum knowledge of how GIMP worked:

Still getting that PSD, though!

Edit: Yes, I can scale and do transparencies correctly too!
wow look at these guys being pro at this!i can hardly make a profile for characters, and you guys are just doing all this pro character creation stuff

Sorry to insist, but those breasts are amlost painful to look at!
Hey I'm having a bit of a "scripting" problem. Basically what I'm trying to do is have my custom toon argue with keika. depending on whose side of the argument you take, one girl is going to get an affection up, the other affection down. If any of you think you can help here are the files.

Story 205 is the one you would have to look at. I put in all of my toon's tachie and audio file in case you need it for anything. Basically, I can't get the tachie or affection changes to work. thanks in advance.
@Mintberry_Crunch
I'll see what I can do to accommodate you....

@dude797
In order for ID=2 to be recognized as Keika, the profiles file that contains Keika's profile must be listed at the beginning of the file. So just change the very first line in your file from "21_profile.txt" to "21_profile.txt, game_profiles.txt". (otherwise it assumes ID=2 means an NPC whose name is "2")

I'm glad this came up btw because I found a parsing error along the way. That error message you're getting about "ID STAY" being invalid--just ignore it. That's a glitch that'll be fixed in the next release.

Story is one thing, but as far as graphics are concerned, I think you missed something:
...starting from basically scratch, with bare minimum knowledge of how GIMP worked

Anyways, I've updated Masako. Visit my locker directly and seek out "masako_heartache.zip", or go here to pick it up that way.

In other news, I was considering making four "related" girls (A four-way profile!?) making a reference to an abandoned game idea, but I've no clue how huge the file would be with the graphics and music included.

*Edit: Wait a sec, I think the game engine only allows for up to two relations, where as a group of four friends would have three relations. The one girl is kinda on the shy side, so maybe...
@ flowerthief
ok thanks for the tip.

Secondly I did some work on everyone's favorite detective in training. I imagine her as having brown eyes. My reasoning is she wears glasses to hide what she considers to be ordinary and unattractive eyes. I kinda get the vibe that she is self conscious of her looks, as evident of her not wanting to be photographed by the jeweler.

As you may have noticed, tsubasa's face is not as simple as keika's. the bangs and glasses get in the way of my color swap brush. So in order to get the detailing right, I'll need tsubasa PSD file. While I'm at it, I can recolor Tsubasa's eyebrows to match her hair.

Dude, if this helps at all, I made a duplicate layer for Masako's eyes to enable me to alter her eye color with her eyebrows staying pretty much the original color that the base PSD had. What I did was erase/made transparent her eyebrows on the "top" layer while leaving the "lower" one alone.
actually i want to change her eyebrow color. it kinda bugged me to see her hair violet hair and orange-ish eyebrow.

my real problem is the glasses. i would have to brush around the frames carefully in order to not to repaint them. its possible, but it would be so much faster if I could just get my hands on tsubasa's psd file. trying to recreate tsubasa is out of the question too, it's really hard to get the exact shade of violet as the original.

and btw, you're learning photo editing quick. i used that dup layer trick to repaint keika's eyes.

For Masako, since the pair of eyes I was using for her uses also come with it's own miniature brows (look at the picture for reference), and "Colorizing" the eyes changes the general color of the selected layer, I figured that I had to make a separate layer to keep things, well, separated! Logic +3!

and btw, you're learning photo editing quick. i used that dup layer trick to repaint keika's eyes.

Not lying: I once got a Chinese fortune cookie that read: "You never know what you can do until you try." I'm not sure how much stock I take in such things, but it seemed to have held true for learning GIMP, though I'm probably still in the process of learning it. Of course, that self-same day, my brother got one that said "What is in an empty box?", but that's another story.

*Edit: Random, yet somewhat appropriate Final Fantasy Tactics reference: "Layer upon layer, make your mark now! Haste!"
you can also try adding your own layers too. like for my toon's top hat (which i think is hilarious, top hats are funny) i simply found a top hat image, made the background transparent, drag it into the young girl psd and resized accordingly.

you can thus customized toon's even further by adding earrings, necklaces... anything you can think of (even a funny top hat that defies gravity)

*edit*
btw is there a command to change player's attribute? I thought it be hilarious if my custom toon would savagely beat the player and his Looks decrease until the next event.
@dude797
Here's the .psd file. Thanks again.

Can we try a different color for her eyes? I actually envision Tsubasa to be a beauty underneath those glasses notwithstanding her self-consciousness. There is another phone conversation in which you learn she used to be a child model, which ties in with the conversation about the photographer near the jewelry shop. There is also an event in which you convince her to show up without her glasses on and she looks stunning (or is supposed to).

There is no command to change player attributes, but I agree that would be hilarious :D

@Marrend
All your quoting from games and books is reminding me of Mei Ling from Metal Gear Solid :P
Alrite I'll get right on that. BTW, I hope you're still on. I'm having trouble with the JUMP command now. What happens is a default story gets played for some reason. I'm using the jump command to set up a condition. If you can take a look I'd be grateful. I'll get my file uploaded in a sec...

*edit*
story file
The story in question is 207 Branch B. The jump command somehow takes me to a keika story, when she tried to bribe someone.

story 209 branch a & b also use a jump command. that leads me to the story where two classmates are whispering to each other.

basically what I want to do is, if you chose a certain branch, then a future event will take place.
No problem, I'll take a look when your file is up.

edit: Okay, it looks like a bug. I'll get to fixing it for the next release. Thanks much.
If you need a workaround in the mean time, change the name of the file to "story_21.txt" and it should work.
I found this thing that lets you make anime styled characters here is one of my characters i made that i styled after rika furude from higurashi
Edit: OH NO >.< I Cant put on images from my documents how would i post the picture then

@Animetor: If you have an image, you post it by putting it between "img" tags as thus:

Alternatively, you can also put it in between "hide" tags as thus:
[hide][/hide]

...Was I too technical with that?

More general comment: I wanna make a "group shot", to show my recent attempt at custom content. Normally, having four girls on-screen is not possible with the game engine as-is, but I think I can use a new/empty XP project to make a screen and attempt to customize positions with Show Picture. That means visiting Studio 74 for a "clean" version of the backdrop I'm thinking of. Assuming I read the credits in the manual right.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the situation (I probably am!), but it seems to me that if he has a custom file that has the same name as a built-in module's file, the built-in module would, and should, have priority.
*edit*
marrend beat me to it!

I'll just add that you have to upload the image file to either your account in rmn or use a service like photbucket or image shack to get the img urls.

@marrend
making an image with 4 girls should be possible. take into account that the game screen is like 640 x 480.
once you have those dimensions, resized or reposition (reposition should be better) the girls to fit in it.

you can print screen a background from the game, and then use the screenie as the lower layer, the girls as the upper layer.

*edit 2*
marrend to give you an idea at 4 girls, enjoy my keika army. what i did was the screenie, and then use 1 layer for each girl.
