You can use the Hint option under the menu to get a very brief overview of all the mechanics at anytime in-game. I've typed up a slightly more detailed guide below if you prefer but it's definitely not required reading to play!

WEAPONS:
There are seven different weapon types with 2 tiers of power (5 when the game is totally done) and 2 weapons in each tier. You got Swords, Knives, Wands, Bows, Guns, Gloves, and Bats all with their own unique attributes and skills!
You can level up each weapon individually with WXP by using monster parts that have a base 25% chance to drop from any enemy. A lot of weapons will offer you stat bonuses and special skills while equipped if you level them up, check out what you can get by selecting "Weapons" in the menu! There's also a passive perk you can activate that will double these bonuses.

*because of the game engine, if any weapon offers a stat bonus you need to back out and re enter the system menu (the menu where you can see your party/items/equipment and such) for the game to apply the changes

FORUMS:
As soon as you complete the in game forum tutorial you'll have access to 6 different forums that you can utilize with the "Codec" item in your inventory. By joining a forum you'll get FP after battle that you can use to exchange for skills, stat boosts, and VERY powerful passive perks that have various advantages. FP is not transferrable between forums and the game was balanced with that in mind.

HELPERS:
By pressing the up direction while in the menu you will activate “RECRUITING” mode, indicated by the big sign that will appear on the bottom of your screen. While you’re in recruiting mode you will attempt to recruit any NPC that you talk to. Many of them have unique skillsets that range from baking pizzas to utilizing elemental resistance walls.

When they join you, they will automatically be at your current level (or at least very close to it)

To disband your entire party hit down in the menu while the cursor is on Options or Credits. Your disbanded members will return to where you originally recruited them and will keep any equipment/skills/levels they gained. Make sure to unequip them if you want to keep their gear!

STEALING:
You can steal $$, EXP, FP, items, or parts from any enemy you encounter. You set what you want to steal beforehand by going to the Options in the menu and setting it there. *You can now set two things to steal in battle at once.

PARTS:
Each monster has a base chance of 25% to drop their part. You can use a part directly from your inventory to gain WXP for your weapons or you can use the parts in the Monster Parts lab in a tent on the Brisk Plains outside Starmen.net. At the lab you can clone parts, battle enemies using parts, upgrade 6 parts into a gold part, and turn parts into battle items (or in some cases consumables).

Using gold parts in these machines will have enhanced effects. If you use a gold part on the battle machine then you'll fight an extremely powerful version of that enemy. If you use a gold part on the machine that turns parts into battle items then you'll instead be able to permanently teach the battle item's skill to a party member.

There's a lot more to the game but the above is probably the most important. It's a really hard game (or I think it is but it's hard to tell when you designed everything) but from the many times I've watched it being played I think it's fun but challenging if you utilize most of the above systems at least a little bit. Thanks for reading!
