Announcement

It's been awhile. (Version 1.8)

Hey everyone,

First off, I want to thank every one of you who has been trying out Iris Island. I was amazed to see that after all this time, "II" was still getting downloads. And now we've made it past 1000! That is very exciting to me. So thank you again and I hope you are all enjoying your time on the island!

Now to get to some details about the new update. Some users have been having issues with little aspects of the game. I have fixed a couple of them and am continuing to search out answers to any other bugs you may be having.
None of these are necessarily game breakers, but if you are worried about running into these issues, please update your game to V1.8. And if you already have an issue with Warsh's mini-quest, feel free to email me (letsfilmsomething@yahoo.com) and send me your save file so I can fix you all up!

Here's what I have fixed in the new update:
--------------------------------------------------
~Update 1.8~

-Fixed Warth's crate mission to Food Store from breaking.
-Fixed Frem showing up in caves at the wrong point in time.
-Added reward in "Secret Forest" room.
--------------------------------------------------

What's that last fix you may ask? "Secret Forest room"? If you haven't found this place yet, I'll give you a hint:

"Stay on track, kick those feet, and don't forget to jump. The path to surprises may be out of sight."

Good luck and have fun!

Elevator

Hey everyone, just a quick update to the game in order to fix a mishap with the elevator.

It was found that when you flip the switch and leave the room, the gate would reset, but the switch remained turned down. This caused a malfunction, rendering the elevator useless.

Everything is taken care of now and should be all good to go.

Thanks!

Puzzlesmith

If you haven't heard yet, BareGamer and myself have taken upon a new project together, that is sure to raise some eyebrows. (If you have eyebrows.) Puzzlesmith is a co-op game, set in a future world inside a evil scientist's laboratory. It will be a good game to play either by yourself, or with a friend! To read more about it, go to Puzzlesmith's game page.

Iris Island Review by BareGamer!

I wish to give a big thanks to BareGamer who wrote a wonderful and well written review of my game! The dedication and effort he put into this review was both inspiring and very well appreciated. It is obvious that BareGamer cares about what he does, and I respect that highly. Be sure to take a look at his profile and his current project, Ludborrow. I can tell that it's going to be a fantastic game!

Progress Report

Update 1.5 is now up.

Okay, I have rectified the error and now the path is clear to venture. (Read blog post "a none shall pass situation".)

And if anyone notices errors or bugs in my game, please leave a comment down below to let me know so I can compile a list if need be.

Thank you!

Progress Report

A none shall pass situation.

Hey everyone,

I was just playing Iris Island a minute ago and noticed that I couldn't walk through the passage on the left of the entrance to magma caves. I must have chosen a wrong tile when I was updating the scenery.

I compared my most recent updated version of the game to Version 1.4 and they both have the same problem.

So I'm going to correct this error right now and there should be a new download up shortly.

(I am a slave to the game! O.O)

Progress Report

Update 1.4

Very sorry for this other update. I further adjusted the grass tiles for a better look.
I also had to fix an error with the roof tiles that I didn't notice upon the last update.

Apologies for the abruptness,

Dylan

Progress Report

Version 1.3

Hey all! I've noticed an issue with the coconuts seeming to give you stamina points, but then it would turn out it hadn't and only adjusted the number's graphic. This would leave you with a number above 0, even though you are out of sprint. That is all taken care of now and if anyone's stamina bar is bugged up from this, just sleep in a bed to reset the bar.

A warning message has been placed to give you a heads up if you are getting towards the end of the game. Now you have the option to turn around and work on anything else before completing the final quest.

I've also changed the tiles on the building to give it a better look. And the grass tiles, along with some others, have their colors altered.

Update 1.2

Sorry for another update again, so soon. A huge lagging issue had to be fixed on the main island.

To be more descriptive of what happened; I had surrounded the perimeter of the island with blank events, to block your boat from being able to dock anywhere, but the docks. This caused a situation of having far too many events on the screen at one time. I've deleted said events, and replaced them with blank tiles, set to be impassable. I wish I would have thought of doing so sooner.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for trying my game.

Until next time,

Dylan
