"Celes, a woman raised from childhood as the prophesied Savior, embarks on a mission to fulfill her destiny and protect the world. But she soon finds herself at odds with a man with a mysterious investment in her mission, and learns that there may be more to her role than she bargained for..."

Eons ago, the world and all of its splendours were created by the magnificent and all-powerful being simply known as the "Creator." It wove the threads of life, and upon creating the planet of Tsufanubra, spotted it with its most cherished life-form: man.

Having gifted mankind with all of its blessing and necessities, the Creator simply watched as man forged his own path in life, and over the decades crafted himself in to a race of truly wondrous individuals numbering in the millions.

The Creator, however, grew tired of this creation, and thus gave life to three heavenly Kings to watch over and monitor the world in his stead. Overseeing their lord's creation from on-high, the Three Kings of Tsufanubra guided their people into an age of peace and prosperity for countless years to follow...

Then that fated day cameā€”the day wherein a great darkness spilled from the opposite world of Arbunafust, and threatened to dominate Tsufanubra and all who lived upon it. The efforts of this otherworldly force, however, were thwarted by the Three Kings. They gifted mankind with four divine relics, then simply waited for man to take back what had been stolen from them.

With the aid of their overseers, man was able to forcibly remove the invading force, and cast it back to whence it came.

Their purpose completed, the relics bore themselves into the earth, forever shedding their light in silence so that mankind could attain eternal peace.

There's an LP?! (And another Update!)

That's right, folks! UPRC (creator of the widely popular Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy series) has stated a "Let's Play" of Chronicles of Tsufanubra. If all of you kind folk would care to give this wonderful individual a Like and Share for his efforts, that'd be greatly appreciated!

And yes, there's been another update. Substantial? Kind of. The MP3 version of the game's now been officially made the default version you're prompted to download after clicking that big button up there in the corner. I found that the old MP3 edition was lacking a little something, so I went in and mixed things up a bit, added a few songs, tweaked a few stats, and cranked out what's now this game's DEFINITIVE EDITION!

So if you haven't downloaded CoT yet, or have been on the fence about doing so, there's never been a better time! Unless something truly game-breaking (randomly) pops up, I'm hoping to never lay my hands on this game again! I think it's time to let this baby rest.

Thanks for the continued support and all of the wonderful downloads and subscriptions you've given this game. I truly appreciate all of you amazing and wonderful people for making this project as great as it is! =D

And this is why I find the public to perhaps be the best test players of all time. They'll do things you never gave a second thought to, and stumble upon something you never even knew existed, even AFTER multiple playthroughs!

I've addressed the issues you mentioned, Liberty! Thanks for bringing them to my attention. Although the Fairy Scythe was never supposed to drain MP! Guess that's an oversight on my part. The weapons that DO drain (some) MP are those that are linked to an element, but you won't access those until a little later.

The teleportation events in the Arvandi Woods should only deactivate once you've cleared the area of monsters? Also, I have to take the blame for that distracting chest... it was on purpose! A deliberate troll. It's a duplicate chest. If you've already got the Fairy Scythe, then you've already got what was in that chest =P Hahahahahaha!

That's an, uh... interesting take on where you thought the story was going! But I've played through these scenes soooooo many tiiiiiiiimes (as I'm sure we all have in all our projects) that anything story-related just doesn't affect me. Well, aside from the introductory section being a little iffy.
I'm giving this a play now that it's completed.
Just got to the part where I save the princess.

Here's a few things I've noticed:

- Teleport in the spooky castle is broken. The one with the switch the lowers water. After I hit the switch for the door to open, going back in the water-lowering room teleports you to the door-opening room instead.
- I was gonna say God didn't give me a present for the castle dungeon but he did... just had to go back through to find it. It would be nice if the treasures God gives you are found on your way out. In this case, maybe in the courtyard with the small pond since you are automatically teleported to the main castle after defeating the boss.)
- That snake monster on a cliff in the forest is the trolliest, most annoying thing ever. Took me about 10 minutes before the damn thing went even close to where I was and I walked through the cave teleporter by accident. Cue another 10 minutes waiting when I got back. >.<;
- There's no way to get that one chest near that monster. I tried every teleporter I could find, no go. The completionist in my is crying. :/ Oh great, and even if there was a way, once you get to the end of the forest the teleports stop so you can't even go back to get it or any of the other treasures. What if you went the right way by accident? That's no fair!
- Fairy scythe is taking MP each time I attack... as are other weapons. Might be a good idea to note that in some way?

I'll add to the list as I progress, but I'm quite enjoying this so far. I have to say, I expected a more subversive story on the outset (along the lines of Grandfather having raised a stooge and the real Saviour being crazy-mc-I'm-pretty-sure-they're-a-cross-dresser-person with the king being in on it) but seems that's not the way the story is going. I dunno, it felt maybe a bit too fast and thus a bit off in the introduction. It just felt a little hinky? Well, it still might go an unexpected direction from that front, but we'll see.
There are some pacing issues at the beginning of the game which we couldn't really have fixed with a substantial reworking of the plot, but the biggest weakness in the beginning might be that Celes is to a large extent a foil type character, and isn't at her most interesting until she has the rest of the party to play off of her.

If the beginning seems at all interesting, pretty much everything should be uphill from there.
Awesome! That's great to hear. I attribute the introduction stages to being so iffy because this is a highly polished and refined version of my first fully completed RPG Maker game: Dragon Fantasy. If I'd been starting from the ground up, I'd probably have tried for something a little moooore... original! Hahahahaha.
Yea just started playing, it's reminds me of old rpg maker games/old rpgs but in a good way, I must admit even though it feels familiar so far the plot is a little surprising (plus I just am a sucker for intense messianic heros). I'm still at the beginning but I'll definitely try to finish it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the experience! The story starts out a little on the cliche side, seemingly heading in the direction everyone THINKS it'll head in... only to twist and turn in just the right ways as to keep things interesting and make the player want to get to the next story scene.
Ok,yes i have finish it .Just wonder a little about that door.
Must say that the story really surprises me positive sometimes and it`s not often that you really don`t want to come to the end in a long game ,but this keeps the interest up.
Actually...

No, you can't go through that door. It's just a little diversion that also hints at Celes' true role. If you've obtained the final Orb of Guidance in the temple area (to the left, just passed the first save point), you can walk over the black pits that you may have seen and ascend to the top of the castle.
Congrats Ephiam to the release.I`ts a real masterpiece i think.
Really love the colourful graphics and mapping.
I have played this now to the end for i don`t know,30 + hours?Ok,i took my time to find everything but in any case this is epic.

Was near to miss an
"overworld "superboss" but decided to go back around and check, and yes there he was :) ,it must have come there after some events(?)
.Maybe should try to write a real review.
Good work of everyone involved.

Last,a question(little spoiler)so
in the last "castle" ,if you go in the big door opening in the middle a magical barrier prevents you from go further and a voice tells you:Try not to dawdle,we eagerly await our savior. Is it possible to go in there ?I solved all the things in all rooms and so i think.

Awesome! You best get back with your impressions, y'hear!
Well, time to play this game o yours. :P
This game's being made with RPG Maker 2000! And it's even the legal version!

It'll be released the first of next month (March).
So, wich 2k or 2k3 one yours make this?

And when it be reaady?
As Corfaisus said, Chronicles of Tsufanubra is INDEED a remake of the first (MY first) Dragon Fantasy! This time around, however, there's a much higher emphasis on the story and characters as opposed to simplifying everything and passing it off as the "old-school charm" like I used to do. That may be strange, and although the original is as loved as it is, I initially utilized the NES style so that I wouldn't have to put too much work into the project and could essentially take a lot of shortcuts. It wasn't until the sequel where I stepped my game up, and finally Heroes of Tsufana was where I REALLY put a lot of effort into attempting to make the project feel like a genuine NES game.

Oh, and progress IS being made, even if it's only a little bit every day! I just don't see much need in making small updates every day or two just to tell you all I've finished copying/pasting some dialogue, or that another event has been tested 25 times and most of the errors have been ironed out.

is this a remake of your first DF?

It is! I just hope that the game can manage the jump from NES to SNES gracefully.

If one can be honest, the NES quality I feel was the strong point of Dragon Fantasy and what sucked me into it so much. I still have fond memories of getting engulfed in its world the first night I played it.

Of course, time can only tell if things are going to work out. Fingers crossed.

I thinks it's safe to say that, all things considered, this release will at least have a greater focus on its story and sense of direction, the latter being where I believe the original series dropped off as world maps became more open and/or complex. Perhaps I'll review the earlier games someday.
I forgot about this project, and glad to see it is still going. Also..I forgot is this a remake of your first DF?

Celes is still sexy.

I wish Enterbrain would consider hiring Corfaisus for designing sample maps.

I know right?

*stares at Nessy*
They're amazing, aren't they?! He did a fantastic job creating the maps for CoT. They look even better when you experience them for yourself, and the game's later dungeons (when the party arrives on the southern continent/Rorstaria) are truly where the map designs shine!
I wish Enterbrain would consider hiring Corfaisus for designing sample maps. Heck, I wish RPG Maker Web would allow people to create map packs to sell in their store; I'm sure it'd be a big seller for a lot of people looking for base maps for ideas or who otherwise struggle and would have to hire a mapper.

And in case it sounds as if I'm off topic, I'm referring to how fantastic these maps look for your game.
Just went through the game again and fixed a lot of little issues and minor things that I... SOMEHOW missed on the other dozen play-throughs! How does this shit even happen?!

Anyway, you'll be able to see even MORE of that action at work once I've finished eventing the confrontation within the Abandoned Mines. After that, I'm going to send it your way to get your impression on how things have turned out so far. I hope you still have your save file from the last time you played it? =P
