Today is a good day.

Fixed a lot of bugs that were absolutely driving me nuts over the past few weeks. Of course, a few new ones sprung up as well. The best part about today is that I no longer have to write painfully long action pose sequences for every individual skill, which will save me so much time.
Previously, one of the battle scripts just wasn't behaving itself the way it was supposed to, so I had to work around it and create special poses for every single action in battle. So glad I don't have to do that any longer.
Speaking of those new bugs, Steal commands are no longer working after updating a few scripts (sure would be nice if Yanfly came back from wherever he disappeared to), and items that target dead allies or enemies never execute. LOL. I'm sure I'll figure out how to fix that stuff soon enough.
On the subject of developing the game further, I am at a complete loss as to how I want to design the first major city the party will visit. Small towns are easy, but bigger places require a little more planning. The location in question is Figaro Castle. However, it's on the Burmecia continent in this project and is NOT in the middle of a desert, so I don't want to copy any of the design from FF6.
I'm open to some suggestions about how to proceed there. Janussenpre has also notified me that a few new pieces of art will be ready soon, which is always nice.
Lastly, while I won't be using it in this project, Victor Sant has finally finished his VX Ace conversion of the popular Materia System script seen back on RPG Maker XP and VX. Those of you who are interested should check out his blog for it. I know it was a heavily requested script, so I'm doing my part to get the word out. Speaking of, he also made a script add-on for his battle system allowing Jump skills a la Kain/Reeve. Pretty cool, although I think I'm going to keep things the same in this project.

Um... I'm new here, so I'm not sure if asking this is ok. I've been looking for a solution and I found this page.
Have you managed to fix the YEA Steal problem? I'm using only Victor scripts and everytime I use a steal skill, even at 100% chance, I get a "Couldn't steal!" (stolen_item is probably always returning nil). I'm using recent Victor scripts too, but I couldn't find what was causing this. Maybe it's not even the same problem you had, but if it was and you fixed it, could you help me? Thanks.

I actually haven't given it much attention just yet, but I will be sure to throw some tracebacks in there to see what the problem is and from there, I can probably fix it. When I know, you'll know! Might be a good idea to report the problem on Yanfly's blog, even if he hasn't posted in a while.
Ok, thanks. I didn't post in their blogs because neither Nessiah (who is fixing Yanfly scripts in the blog) nor Victor seem to be taking compatibility requests.

Just checked by printing out the steal rate after every action in the log window... and it's definitely always returning as nil. Now to figure out WHY.
Have you fixed it? I didn't find what the problem was, but I made it work (dat hardcoding) a long time ago, with steal rates and all.

I also edited it so the character will only try to steal if the skill hits (for Mug and stuff).
Here, if you still have problems:
