wow this game is bizarre and disturbing. i'm not sure i'd say i 'like' it, but it definitely deserves more attention than it's getting.

i had to stop playing after a short while because it was making me feel queasy and disoriented, but i plan on writing a review anyway. that may sound negative but it's actually an endorsement, i respect games that make me feel something

i definitely want to know more about this game and its creator, although i'm a little scared of both lol
So far I like it. Although I got stuck on the white room that loops around and all the guys show hearts when you talk to them. I don't see how changing everything to the red version helps.

In the white room, objects are located in a grid-like formation. If you get lost, move diagonally. The exit is slightly to the left of the pond, after moving up a couple of screens.

Enter the red world to find a hidden staircase in the tiny grove, leading down.

thank you fugue for your interest and for the review!
I intentionally made the game very vague, leaving the stranger sections up to the player to interpret, although it may seem random and open ended, there is indeed a story hidden in it all! thank you.
Those spider like things are really hard to dodge sometimes. That part reminded me of "I wanna be the guy"...

Hmm, does the creator still come on?

I inserted the VHS tape into the TV and I was taken to a room with the father and Lisa sitting at the tea table, and I can't get out. What should I do?

A few bugs/errors:
1. There is a tile passability issue in the hilly area where you get the work gloves; the red roof tiles can be entered by walking down through a tree above it.

2. At one point in this odd disco-maze thing with those damn spiders, one wandered to the checkpoint and hit me as soon as I was sent to it...
Which left me chuckling the rest of the way through the maze because it froze me into doing the "climbing" animation the rest of the way. It was fixed when I left the screen; but I didn't get caught again while stuck in that animation, so I don't know if getting hit would have fixed it.

3. Am I supposed to open the inventory while watching the VHS? Because doing so changes my sprite... O.o Maybe want to make it offer "return to entrance" like most of the maze segments?

Also, expect a review once I finish. I've played enough of these "psychological surreal horror adventure games" to have my two cents be informed, at the least. ><
Interesting. A rare finding!
The game had me addicted. It's short, not too slow and the dialogue and hints keep you wondering what's going on.

I was, however, disappointed in the ending. I found 3 total VHS tapes, which I assume is everything, and the ending was too vague and didn't explain enough.

The game was meant to be vague, I can tell that, but the sheer lack of details and lack of closure really turned me off.

This looks different and refreshing. I'll take a look into it when I have the time!
While this was a very interesting game, with a nice style and theme, it feels very unfinished. I was never told in-game that there were VHS tapes to find. I found two, but I assume there are more? Also I have no idea what lead to the ending and what to do if I would replay the game. It would have been great to be able to replay the VHS tapes. The spider puzzle in Vomit Land was impossible if one moved a boulder wrong. I guess I completed the game as it said "THE END" but when I pressed V i was just returned to the item screen, this time with a different font. When I pressed menu again I was transported to a seemingly endless white room. I had to manually shut the .exe file down to exit.
Things I, despite that, liked about the game: The soundtrack was great, especially the song in the impossible spider puzzle. The game felt very much inspired by Yume Nikki. I really liked the sound effects, they felt very professional and really added to the game. Also, was the game inspired by the movie Martha Marcy May Marlene? And is there more to find out about this "mom" mentioned in the file names?
(This is my first time posting anything. Should this have maybe been a review instead? I created an account just to comment, so...)
(And why all the Earthbound character sprites?)
It was fun. Disturbingly fun. Enjoyed it much better than a thriller, where the only thing they know is to put guts at the screen.
Also I don't know which one is the correct ending...
(spoilers inside)
I got a THE END after letting someone to comfort me (or something), then found a tape, exited the ending, saw the tape, and got a game over. The Game Over was more clear than the other one. Maybe it gave me a game over because I didn't let that matter alone.

Anyway, somehow I think I know what happened now, so I'm glad.
A very interesting and disturbing game. For some reason, the wandering reminded me of the sandbox exploration game, Yume Nikki, and the sprites/music reminded me of Earthbound/the Mother series. Very nice, I'm still in the process of playing but it's fun.

I hate getting stuck in these games...

I have the work gloves (easy to find), the plastic bag (which I used to get the "Tricky Rick" VHS (and Rick is obviously a penis metaphor)) and I got the banana. I know one of the dudes on a raft in the water area says something about a banana peel, but I can't figure out how to peel it. Also there's a guy in the mountain area that asks for rum. So, I guess I know what I need, but have no clue where to go or what to do.

Any suggestions would be nice.

EDIT: Dammit... nevermind, got it.
It is so rare to find a true horror game that really gets into your head.
The game truely succeeds at invoking fear, scorn, hate and madness.
Cudos to you Dingaling!

It is great for a developer to trust their audience to figure it out for themselves ! Something the AAA market should understand by now!
I literally just signed up to inform you that I am in the midst of this pink spider cavern from hell and I am NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

The music's nice though.
