Pocket Quest! is half way between a traditional JRPG and board games such as Snakes and Ladders. What normally happens in a role-playing game then, is revisited to fit the mechanical properties of a game with boards, squares and dices to throw.

Story:
The beginning of the story is simple: the young and carefree warrior Nono, in her typical heroes wanderings, comes across an edict in which unimaginable rewards are promised to those who will rescue the kidnapped prince of the kingdom! With hopes and thirst for riches, Nono decides to embark on this mission facing a long trip with Uzu, a giant snail met on the way. But the journey is not without risks, as well as the naturals pitfalls of the places to cross, Nono and Uzu will have to contend with the emissaries of the mastermind behind the kidnapping, ready to put a spoke in the wheel by any means.

Gameplay:
Nono's journey is summed up in 4 looping circular boards, each 64 squares long.

The purpose of Nono in each board is simple: accumulate enough experience levels to gain access to the clash with the Boss of that area and defeat him. Various types of squares are scattered along the route, each representing an aspect of the classic role-playing games:

-The INN, where Nono can rest and save the game;

-The classic SHOP, where refueling of objects and equipment;

-TRAPS that damage Hitpoints;

-MONEY, always handy during the adventure;

-MONSTER squares represent the "casual encounters" with the monsters in that area against which it will be necessary to fight to level up;

-MEETING square allows you to have a chat with local people, which could also assign Nono missions in exchange for rewards more or less generous;

-HOT SPRINGS are there to rejuvenate the body and spirit;

-The BOSS square, where the battle with the guardian of that level awaits (when Nono will be ready);

There are other squares that hide various mini-games, a source of amusement and money in Pocket Quest!

During her trip, however, Nono will be periodically interrupted by Lily, the little demon emissary. She'll curse our heroine with a magic roulette, casting on her every type of malus, such as not being able to see the squares or the closure of shops.

Featuressss:
Custom Battle System
Custom Menu
Custom Message System
Custom everything XD
An entire game made by Pictures

This is more or less everything, but there is more than meets the eyes in the history of Nono ;)

Yeah, let’s hope so. I mean, I’m still in the process of retooling mine up (is that even the right word for it, "retooling???"), but other than that I haven’t seen anything or heard of anybody else around here working on a boardgame unless they happen to be hiding it behind closed doors or something. But hopefully, someday, the boardgame genre will happen to get the spark that it really needs and we’ll at least get 4 more board games around here in the future.

(Hey, I can dream, can I?)
Man ... Italians indeed make the best stuff when it comes down to RPG Maker. O.O

But lots of the musics in this game are so bad ... You should really change those musics which are damn overused.

Nice nipple alert when you rest in the Inn by the way. ;-)
Wonder how often you fapped to your own graphics while making this game ...
I thought it used to be the French that always made the best kind of stuff in RPG Maker, or has that now changed over the years? Lol.

But, yeah, I think I mentioned it in my review as well, but the music in this game could have been so much better utilized by either using better quality MIDI’s or just straight up using MP3’s instead, considering how everything else here is of such high quality and standards that it kinda comes off as a bit jarring to listen to. Well…at least the battle and boss themes change up with every single new board that you go to, so at least that helps a bit on the ears.
What is done is done, to me, honestly midi >>> mp3 and I won't change a bit of my game.
What is done is done? Does that mean you don't wanna fix stuff so that you could make cheap money with a "legal remake" of your game? ;-)

@ Brent:
The Frenchies make the best graphics but their gameplay sucks. ;-)
^On that note, you might be able to get an interesting venture going if you were to turn this into an App. I've seen people playing Scrabble on their phones, for instance...
Well, considering how I hate games for cellphone, PQ on android or whatever is not a destiny I wish for my game.

PQ will remain a free PC game.
I say thanks for making this game and also translating it to english. I played it the last 3 or 4 days when i had time and it certainly is a great charming board game with rpg elements and i enjoyed it very much. The featured game here certainly isn't without a meaning.
I choose the hard way at the final boss battle i believe and got the best ending, don't know what would happen if i would attack and defeat the lower HP character.
I also lost 2 times but that only because i was somehow unprepared for the first boss fight and from then i mostly went with axe and best shields i could get and always with most turn speed. 3rd boss rather surpised me when i didn't have too much health when he only had little health left. Uzu was at least a little helpfull having only 2 abilities, but my first run with Nono was without any special abilities or advancments when i started the game. I also abused the genie level up wish when i didn't receive any more xp for battle i usually just went to the genie to level up so that made it easier also. Also i do recognize the macross frontier voice played when the showgirl shows up before the quiz starts,i will just say it fits nothing else. Also i enjoyed the characters and also the small but interesting story, also hot game lol.
:)

Thank you very much for your feedback, I'm glad you've enjoyed it!
I have to say: This is one of the sweetest, most adorable games (generally, not onl in the realm of RPGmaker-games) I've ever played! The animations are top-notch and so full of lovely details, sound is perfect, gameplay unique. Beautiful game, thank you for this experience!
