Dell is a young Seer, sent to visit the Shrines of the Gods as a test to prove her ability to survive in the world. Together with her mute Guardian, Lise, she embarks on an epic tale of-----

Actually, there's nothing epic about this story. Dell is a psychotic young lady who just wants to see the world burn (and help it along if she can) while Lise just tags along for the hell of it (and because she's getting paid). On their journey they meet various odds and ends of the human race, including the town of washed-up heroes, a magical construct with severe sinus issues and a star-struck teen who dreams of romance. Together they will either save the world or doo----

Actually, that's not this game either.

Dell is a young Seer sent to check on the alters of the Gods to prove her worth (and to get her out of the house). While visiting the ancient alter of the Dragon King (on whom she may possibly have an eensy weensy crush), she notices something awry. This leads to an epic idiotic adventure through ice and crystal caverns, a town of washed-up heroes and an underground cellar.

Along the way she and her Guardian, Lise, (who, while mute, isn't stupid enough to do this job without decent pay), an ancient magical construct with... issues and a young man who's more than a little ditzy.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Made in about 24 hours for the Ace Lite Cook-off, for the sole purpose of adding another badge to the growing collection, Seer Dell is my first main foray into the comedy genre. Whether anyone actually finds it funny is another thing altogether.

New Download Up!

So I finally got around to uploading the new download for Seer Dell: Dragon. A lot of small things have changed.

The biggest thing is that it no longer uses the default random encounter system. I created my own evented one which works very well and gets rid of the issue with 2-step encounters/no encounters.

Another big thing is the addition of a few cutscenes - including a shortcut after the boss battle so getting back to the statue is a lot easier.

Other changes include:
- lighter overlay
- 'achievements'
- a ship (dun ask)
- earlier skills
- extra balancing in battles
- font changed
- no more dash
- faster walk speed
- text changes
- bug found in the inn (again? damn that place!) fixed
- music changes

So, if you were waiting for a good time to try the game out, now is it!

Hi,
I played the game until the end, although I didn't see a boat ?
Before I knew it, the game was over...But I'm always happy to actually finish a game...(I don't like being stuck at the final boss and not seeing how the story ends, which seems to happen too often to me)

I liked the way you can find so many items in the labyrinth but i got so much money, i spent it on all kinds of upgrades for everyone...for no reason, which I found a little sad...
There is a village on the upper left side of the world map i couldn't reach...possibly I just missed the boat
I liked the dialogue when the two groups met. I was glad they didn't fight but joined forces (although I think beginning with a fight would also be good if they would've join forces in the end)

I got a weird bug where i couldn't use my down arrow, all my saves seemed corrupted, restarting my computer solved the problem luckily...not sure if that was a Windows thing or the game or what it was...

The battles and the mapping were nice to play...
Looking forward to the next chapter.
I'm glad you enjoyed what there is to the game~
I've never heard of that issue before, so it seems it was probably your computer. >.<;

As far as the upgrades you got in town... I've been looking at implementing a carry-over feature for save files - to make the games seem a tad more connected (and to unlock extra bits if you played previous episodes - cameos and some items ;p )
That aside, there wasn't a boat to catch. The village shown on the map comes into play in the third episode so it's basically a sneak peek at part of the expanded world map.

I'm gonna assume the boat you're talking about was the 'ship' mentioned at the shortcut? They weren't talking about physical ships/boats but a term used by fans of a group or fictional series to denote a relationship between characters - whether it be canon or not. In this case Dell was implying that she thought Tome and Mel made a good couple - whether they are or not (even ignoring whether either are gay or not too). To 'ship' someone is to pair them up romantically, so for example, a lot of people 'ship' Hermione and Harry over Hermione and Ron in Harry Potter, or another example - people pair up Quasimodo and Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame over the Disney canon pairing of Esmerelda and Captain Whatsisface.

...If I'm wrong and a boat was actually mentioned at some point, uh, sorry? ^.^;

hmm,so overall this is a comedy game.
can be fun to play once if the player finds the human entertaining but if not fails as a game.
one of the more difficult genres imo to aim for.
i think the last "comedy" type rpg game i played...
was the drunken paladin
and it was one of the few i did not finish.
was a terrible game
the first save point was the last straw... :3

either way ill try this eventually :3
This game is nice. the funny thing is... I died at the first fight LOL XD
It's funny how you did the story and the characters. I wished for more but i don't mind, I had fun X3 haha Peace.

The game download already has saves

wow right in! no intro. not sure if thats good or bad depends on game?

when looking at the map from the menu it is timed rather then player activated for closing it. so you cant really at it properly (unless you use F1 to pause the game)
also the maps pretty pointless if the game forces you to go in a liner path anyway

its a shame when buying equipment its usually not more specific when it comes to the stat upgrades it shows physical power or defense but not other things unless you
buy it and go to equip it.

overall
was a neutral experience, not good or bad just there.

Thanks, I guess?
- Yeah, I have a habit of leaving old saves in. I'll have to weed them out if I ever update the game again.
- Yup! Deliberately done since I tend to spend too much time making intros, so I figured I'd skip it this time. Besides, it's supposed to be a bit-siezed adventure, so no intro needed.
- Eh, I might change that to press button, but it's not the full map and it was only ever supposed to be a guide to get you started in the maze.
- Yup, that's how I make mazes. Linear paths with off-shoots for treasure and maybe a side-area for quest/plot purposes. Simple but effective.
- Eh, I don't really care about pointing out stats in most of my games. I feel that you can look at them on the equip scene so why bother? I didn't add extra affects that would change the way battles work (since I made the game in 24 hours) and besides, it's not like those new equips actually have a use since the game finishes just after you get them, so...

Thanks for playing. I do appreciate the feedback about the grammar, but the rest is rather neutral, not good or bad, just there. ;p
I love Lite games, will be trying this one too. Comment coming later

EDIT: Simple Lite game that doesnt touch the battle system or items, those are left as default. So it really comes down the story/characters. And I admit these characters are very 'colorful'. So is most of the townsfolk too. I feel like this game could have greatly benefited from using emosets instead of just the RTP package.
