Out of the "RIFT"!

Lol..yeah so for the past couple of weeks..I was basically obsessed with the MMORPG RIFT as it had just gone f2p. And, because of that I could hardly get in any work at all. Now, I haven't quit it completely, just that the f2p craze has died down within me, and I'm getting out of the haze~ Huzzah! o(^u^)9 (Okay, I friggin' love that, and I have like no clue what it is! Pacman/Kirby doing a fist pump with a big ol' happy face or something? xD)

Anyway, here's some good and bad news. The storyline has been revamped and changed from the 1800's and steampunk setting, back to the Medieval time of 1479. Now, was there a reason for the change? I actually think I might have said something about that..somewhere, but me being as scatterbrained as I am, oh well~ :p

Three playable characters have been removed because the amount of work was beginning to pile up just from even one or two character..so yeah they're gone, at least from being playable...for now. If you've been checking in then you'll know which ones were removed in the characters page. Oh, which now have their sprites included.

Now, every character has a different default playstyle, of course, but how will they be used? Xear starts out with heightened Celerity(Agility), and Armour(Defense), however he can become a pure offensive type magic user if you want not only by going to a stat trainer, but by picking a magic based star sign, choosing magic type skills from the skill master, and even cloth armor/staves which no character restricts to wearing. That still isn't every way to change how your characters improve by the way~ (Find them secret bonuses! ;D)

Welp, I'll end this with saying, yup Palemoon's out of the short hiatus, and I'm currently changing the tiles for the maps to more of an..RTP type look? I mean it won't be like full on square city of anything, just I guess more natural, and eye-pleasing, well at least imo. Anywho, cya'll around~ o(^u^)9

Nothing Major

Now, before anyone wonders why it has gone on hiatus, let me just say that it will "not" be for long..a few days at most; just needing to spend a little time to update the profile page, and work on the world map, which is for the most part done.

I'll also shed some light on character playstyles, and the starting abilities, and things you'll be able to get your hands on~ :)
Oh, and I've gone ahead and altered the time Palemoon'll take place in, from 1858 to 1479, shortly before the start of the Witch Inquisition.

Be sure to keep checking in now and then, and enjoy summer which just started! :D

Palemoon

So, I've gone and changed the name. This is a permanent change, and I'm fond of it for being unique, as well as paving the road for any possible future games once I ever end up finishing this one(don't hold your breath, because I'm working less and less apparently..plus my health hasn't been..well, the best recently, which results in even further delays.)

Now for those of you wondering..just what exactly "is" Palemoon? Butterfly Chronicles is related to the ancient stories of Caisha dated long ago, in the details of which differ from person to person. Palemoon however, refers to the once beautiful and radiant moon hovering high in outer space above Caisha that eons ago completely lost its luster and brought about the "Nevermist" as it is referred to by the people of Caisha; a never-ending mist that covers all of Caisha and causes people to gradually lose their memories.

The majority of the game will be left intact, as it's merely just a name change..there will however be alterations to the world map; mostly expansions and enlarging the overall size of Caisha.

I believe that's all from me..oh, and after a few weeks..yeah, I'm not doing the Butterfly Weekly anymore. Well, be sure to keep checking back for more updates every now and then! :)

Progress Report

Butterfly Weekly #3

Hello again everyone, and welcome to this week's issue of Butterfly Weekly! This week, I'll show the various races that will be seen in the world of Caisha.

Taulan (Humans)
The Taulan are the most abundant race within Caisha, and have also been around the longest. With the introduction of steam technology, their productivity has vastly increased and has significantly changed their way of living. Most Taulan are white skinned, however some are tanned.

Yanna (Elves)
A knowledgable and proud race that are on good terms with most races except Dhampirs. They refuse to accept the way of change, and so the majority of their societies stick to pre-steam technology. Yanna are distinguished by their long ears, and deeply darkened skin.

Meracian (Squirrels)
An unusual race of talking and walking squirrels, the Meracian have heavily evolved due to the effects of the mist. Because they were once animals, they are often shunned or outcast by society. They are, however very intelligent, even more than the Yanna and so most of the inventors and researchers are Meracian.

Dhampir (Half Vampires)
Dhampir are referred to by Yanna as the spawn of evil. Born from both Taulan and Vampire parents, the Dhampir are mostly humanoid, however they share many traits with the Vampires such as the need for blood, and fear of garlic crosses and holy water. They are not weak to sunlight, however most Dhampir are nocturnal which is why they are so pale skinned. All Dhampirs have red eyes and black circles around their eye sockets.

Xilia (Wolves)
The Xilia were at one time a greatly powerful race. No one knows for sure why exactly they are supposedly extinct now, and the only Xilia that has been seen within the last twenty years is thought to be dead. They were known for their dog-like ears, and pale blue skin.

That's all for this week's Butterfly Weekly..there won't be another one until next month, because next week will involve my birthday hence me being unable to work, but do stay tuned for the next one~ :)

Butterfly Weekly #2

Alright, so what to discuss this time around? The first would be the inclusion of Professions which will start off with the basic jobs of Fisherman, Chef, and Miner, and move onto the more advanced jobs later, like Alchemist, and Blacksmith~ :)

Next would be..the unveiling of a new character! This guy's name is Karme E'eotem, who sort of looks like a Dwarf. He wears a split dark green kilt up to slightly above his waist held up with a black metallic belt, black chainmail pants, dark brown boots, a dark brown gauntlet on his right arm, and a silver circlet on his head. Karme is above all the most physical character in the game, so Energy and Might are his strong suits~

Lastly, I've managed to get Butterfly Remnant a page up on the forums at RpgMakerWeb, so be sure to check it out, and support it over there as well~

That's all from me this week..I think. Next Butterfly Weekly will come 5/22, since I need some time to catch a break. :p

Butterfly Weekly #1

So, what is Butterfly Weekly? Basically, just a weekly journal of what's been done over the course of the week, and previews of what's to come. I may sometimes include screenies..but, only for the more important stuff; leave out the unnecessary fluff in these weekly journals, ya know? Anyway, onto the info!

As anyone who's subscribed to Butterfly Remnant may know, two team members have been added, the lovely(lol) Clareain_Christopher as the artist, and the generous Shade_Hunter as the composer! These two both also have great games of their own, so be sure to check them out!
