Welcome! For those new to this project, Master of the Wind is a superhero game which takes place in the fantasy world of Solest. It is a story told in seven chapters, referred to as "arcs."

Cade Mistral and his best friend, a skeleton named "Bones," work as armor merchants in the beautiful seaside town of Port Arianna. Unbeknownst to the townsfolk, Cade also protects them as the spear-wielding wind mage known as Shroud. Bones joins him as Stoic, a mighty undead warrior who has lived through roughly one thousand years of history.

The story begins with our heroes keeping their fellow citizens safe from smaller threats like robbers or the occasional vampire. However, when larger and more organized foes begin to descend on their humble home, our heroes realize they are in for more than they bargained for. They will have to make new friends, confront deadly foes, and travel all over the world to deliver justice once and for all.

Welcome Back, Bros (and Gals)!

Solest Games is now live!

It took almost a year, but Solest Games is finally back. For those who weren’t around, the site was hacked last summer and we lost EVERYTHING! Years of articles…gone. It was depressing at the time, but it opened up the opportunity to give the site a fresh, modern look.

The site now has a sleek, more mobile friendly design. Most of the page content is the same, with the addition of a Books section that Volrath will be updating. You can still find the downloads for all our games on here.

We’re still making some final tweaks, but this is more or less the finished product. With the new site, I’ll be producing new content on a fairly regular basis. Our Mailchimp account was de-activated so if you were a subscriber you’ll have to sign up again if you want to receive updates. We have a few projects in the works so you’ll definitely want to do that!

If you have any feedback on the site or run into any issues, please leave a comment or contact us directly. Thanks for sticking it out with us!

Hi i have been playing this game for around i would say 3 to 4 hours anyway i am level 11 for both people in my party anyway I'm a little worried about something and that is that i read this http://solest.org/guides/motw/the_darklord/
Now as you can see this guide seems to say that Shroud and Stoic stop getting skills at level 18/19 is this true? If so I'm worried because so far skills seem to be the thing that hurts enemies more then anything and since people have been saying this game is like 30-40 hours long i would think by level 19 i will only be 10 hours in.

So to be clear can someone tell me if what i read is true or if it's a lie also why did i never get that level 8 skill Chinook?

Edit: Ok so i was way off on my level i was level 14 but now I'm level 18 and that skill list seems....off...so yeah.

I would guess that guide is for a much older version of the game.

Thanks but maybe you can help me if you have played this game before. Is the music in battle supposed to be the music that plays as you walk around the area?

Yes, that's completely normal.
Yeah the combat is fairly challenging throughout the game but you definitely have the necessary firepower to get through the game without too much grinding. And you definitely get skills after level 19 ;P

Yea that guide is outdated. There are skills all the way up through level 50. The other guides are more uptodate but we don't have one that goes past arc 4. It would be super cool if someone made a complete walkthrough someday ;)
I like intelligent design of dungeons. Very playable concept. Nice.
after so many positive comments - downloading now!
I need help here. I cannot move after defeating Andau, and watching Cade's cutscene.
Your still in the first arc, right? This is a weird glitch, but avoidable as long as you hadn't saved after defeating Andau.

In front of the church there is an elf girl, if you talk to her it will trigger and extra cutscene after defeating Andau, if not I found myself stuck in cade's room like you. This is something that needs attention, honestly.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Thank you so much.
Really liked the game.
The only thing I didn't like was the overuse of the word bigotry.
But I liked how the main characters go from unlikeable communists to nice guys that know they don't know everything.
And the fact that the game didn't have lots of pure white/black morality(except maybe for the main antagonist), and also the light/dark is not good/evil trope.

i wish the half encounter was a equipable thing so it was permanent until you take it off.
no encounters even better :(

the master must be really weak to run away from level 1 heros o.o

sprinting should not be disabled :(

the war stuff is depressing. we should of at least been able to make the elf ghost happy...

General dropped (too battle heavy)
...

Overall
if you love battles and plot devices give this a shot.
Hey, does anyone know where to find a complete walkthrough?

There's no complete walkthrough of the entire game, unfortunately. Sorry.
But if you're stuck somewhere or need help, feel free to send me a message, and I can try to help.
This game is crazy. I'm playing it right now and thinking of some ideas 4 a review. What a great (and massive) game. Soo fun and enjoyable, but can be frustrating for impatient player like me, LOL.
I've played through MotW twice and it's still one of my top favorite RPG Maker games. I love the characters for their incredibly engaging personalities, the storytelling since it feels more like a good book than a game and all the references / political undertones (like Yaled the Hammer).

The battles are fun and easy, and tbh, I thought the second-to-last boss was harder to fight than the actual final battle. XD I remember the mini-games forcing me to quit years ago since my old computer couldn't handle the controls... after getting my laptop, things got so much easier. Uy.

...One of my favorite things about the game is the cutscene from Stoic's past. It takes like 40 minutes, but it's so well-written that I didn't even notice and just went with the flow.

...Did you drop the game in the first chapter? If so, you did it too early since the game has five or six chapters. MotW's strong point is its storytelling.
Amazing game, people, even though I'm not really a fan of rpg style combat or puzzles. I'm more of a vn person, :P

Anyway, I got stuck at the golem part in arc 5 with the black ball. Using the golem's jump got it off the first ledge, but I can't get it off the second one. What a coincidence I got stuck right after the guides end, eh?

Hey, I got stuck on that part during my first playthrough as well! It's pretty tricky. Here's what you'll want to do:
Place the golem next to the right edge of the ledge and push the black ball onto the top of his head. Then move the golem next to the platform on the other side and pull the ball off his head again.

Good luck with the rest of your playthrough!
