Much has changed in the years since the Old Gods have perished.

The world continues it's slow descent into oblivion, arbiters of the old order continue their struggle from the shadows, and the nations of the world, formerly oblivious to the Eldritch powers that bore this crisis, begin to harness it's potential for their own gain.

Nero, a man born from such strange powers is thrust into a world of ancient battles, New Gods, and an all powerful enigma who watches over all from his very subconscious.

The long awaited conclusion to the cult classic RPGmaker game; Demon Legacy.

- A note on character commands -

Each character has their own set of specific commands. Not all characters can use items but such characters can make up for this handicap in many ways.

FAQ:

Q: Is this the finished game? All of it?

A: Yes, this is done. There is no "Part I Part II" stuff here. It's done. Finished. Completed.

Q: What about part 1?

A: Disregard it. It's canned. I rewrote the whole thing, or rather reverted the story to what I had planned to do before the game was delayed by waiting for artwork that never panned out.

Q: Do I have to play Demon Legacy in order to understand this?

A: Not really. There are some nods to the first game but nothing that would ruin the experience for newcomers.

Hm i Wonder if i can pul somethi goff here/

I'm going to grab this myself. But first, back to the end of Demon Legacy since i was unable to beat it, and for a refresher... yes, that's right, Shadar killed
or had our heroes kill all the gods and destroy the cycle of reincarnation
so he could bring about his "peace..." (But I ought to fix those typos for you!)
Let' see if i can beat him this time.. the false reality , the forgetting, is not what I choose.
I don't usually like the stock RPG Maker 2003 battle system, but you really gave it a lot of attention.

Great game; Well-crafted.

Thanks, that really means a lot.
I'm gonna start this tomorrow...by the way..what are those strange music tracks on the very bottom on the music folder? Oo (apologizing for using those?? o_O)

btw again, I loved Demon Legacy. Cannot wait to start this one. Also did you self-teach or did you go to an academy for writing? You have one of those styles that can really hook players in, and keeping it really interesting. I'm probably going to expect the same for this. :)

Thanks for playing and commenting! Playing both back to back is the best way to appreciate the little things Phantom Legacy does. You *should* be in for a treat!
Demon, and this game so far greatly reminds me of Grandia I & II in a very good way. This game reminds me too much of Grandia II in terms of story style or similar to it.

Also this game so far has raised the bar for me concerning RMN villains. Shadar is truly a huge bastard so far. I also was not expecting in the
Intro you did custom artwork, color me surprised
, that is something I've never seen in a RMN game in my all years. I'm loving it so far. Great now I sound like a fanboy, but I can't help it!

EDIT:
LOL!!! Malakai is hilarious! I haven't laughed that hard at a RMN character in awhile.
So I just finished it. I loved the story, and all the custom stuff you've done on it. Though I got to say the ending made me leave a good, and a bad taste in my mouth.

5/5 hands down. This was truly an amazing experience.

Though I've seen written here that there will not be a part II or should I say part III, but I hope you do comeback to your saga to make as a trilogy due to the ending, but
I guess it's nice he got his ass kicked for once
. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very short this time by the way!

Also I dug into your database, and looks like you had something in mind after
Shadar
. Who was that lightbearer guy that never was used? Also looks I skipped out on optional stuff or it looked like it anyway. I should have searched around, and not have rushed.

Malakai was a really interesting character. I knew his character type is a reference to another game I can't think of at the moment since their personalities are really similar.
I just finished the game as well... and it was seriously awesome...

Sure there could have been more freedom, a bit farming/grinding, more equipments, perhaps some mini games and more secrets... (the rpg aspect was a bit low)...

but the story more than made up for it!! it was really one of thoses WOW i cant believe they (he) actually made that happen... your game mechanics were also really great... from spikes to teleport, paralax background, jumping and all the custom animations... really great... congrats on such an achievement! :)

I also had the bug when the animal minion of lamia didnt run away... fortunately someone suggested using Bleed to kill him which worked well! :)

will definitely try to keep informed if there ever is a sequel!

Most of the things in the folder that you didn't see are secret bosses.
The game is well designed and I found the story is very deep and it felt like two half one half is a great movie and the other half is a great game full of many rpg aspects including Hub towns and great battles that takes time to figure out a strategy to beat them.

Its one of the most polished games,
I hope you make another game using RPGMaker.
This may sound strange, but I wouldn't mind if Shadar somehow changes into a better person. Despite all that evilness, I think there is some kind of redemption for that character I would not mind seeing. Unless that's too Darth Vader-ish lol.
Also, unrelated note; if you're planning to continue making games, might I suggest a "1.5" game, detailing the exploits and events that occurred in the time period between Demon Legacy and Phantom Legacy? Given the apparent half-and-half split in the old gang between Slade/Rhea and Iris/Sharn, you could easily make two separate games out of that. I'm guessing.
Ahhh. I got a bug or an error, whatever. The matter is that, when I'm sailing with Lilith and Corvus on the sea and fighting the birdy-beasty thingy the game just suddenlly quit. No warning, no error message just exit.
Now
Forget it. I simply skipped that fight and now everything is OK.
SPOILER! But what about the Shadar transcendent dimensional best mega hyper super form? How suposted I beat him, 'Cuz I tried 26 times (yes, I counted) and I couldn't beat him. Of course with many different strategy but I've no idea how to win finaly. Dah. Help?

For that bird battle, I think you need to add the missing file "misc1.png" from another RPG Maker 2003 game's folder. I skipped it too, so I have no idea if simply adding the file will work.

For Shadar's 2nd form, did you destroy his arm first?

Thank you about that beaky bird! And no problem. For 27th time I could 'defeat' him, probably.
A few tips for the final boss:

In the first phase, use Furor and don't waste any MP attacking him until he shields himself. Before he shields up, make sure Lamia's MP is full.

After his shield comes up, use Lamia's Meggido to attack both the shield and the boss until she runs out of MP, then just use regular attacks with her until it goes down. Everyone else should focus on staying alive; while taking occasional pot shots at the shield. The shield takes a little more damage from fire, so keep that in mind.

After the shield goes down, it's a fairly standard fight, though you do still need to watch out for powerful attacks that hit your whole party, and "Soul Rend" which inflicts the incurable doomed status. "Doomed" will reduce reduce the victim's HP to 1 at an absurd rate; so don't bother healing people afflicted until they go down and you revive them.

Good luck!

Thank you. It would be much easier if I know this tip sooner. Anywas the 27th time I could win with this tactic. En passant, It was an awesome game! Wouldn't you like to make a continue? I mean Shadar is still alive and waiting for his time and Nero is now wandering and gathering knowledge, I think. Doesn't matter! I really love this game! Good job, Nightblade! You must be one of the most creative developers if you could make an amazing rpg like this! Salute!

Once again I love this series (though I was really sad at the previous main character dying as well as the others I won't spoil, just hope Rhea survived... T_T ), brilliant work as always Nightblade! :D I had a question though... Is there more than one ending? I ask this because i'm wondering if it has more than one ending where you could save a few others like Slade and such, been nagging me for a good while now after all... ^^; I just feel so sad about those that died that didn't deserve such a fate like Slade... :( He was NOT a "False Hero"... Quite the opposite as it was her and his allies Sharn, Iris and Rhea that literally were the ones who ended the very Old God that was the source of woe, aside from Shadar, that was Proteus and saved the world, if those four (including Orion, I have NOT forgotten about his sacrifice and never will, I actually was really crying when he powered through to end Deimos for good when he ripped off the device that both stabilized and cursed his life, no seriously, I really cried, a lot... T_T ) aren't "Heroes" then I seriously don't know WHAT/WHO is...! TT
