yes it was. BL's re-release adds even more, actually (although it does look nice, especially with the new gems scattered everywhere in the rock).

BL and BM ( Blindmind ) do 'good clutter' though. As in, it doesn't get in the way of navigating your way through a map. It becomes 'bad clutter' when 1) the player can't see where they're supposed to go 2) there's so much going on it's hard to make out the player sprite or 3) it just gets in the way.

I had a clutter fetish myself. Not so much now.
