Spirit Legends takes place at a time when the world changes and is placed in great peril. An event takes place that grants all animals greater intelligence and reduces all humans to bumbling idiots. A small group of animals know that the world is in danger and take it upon themselves to save it. They must travel to learn from those who came before them, learn great new abilities, and do all they can to change the world back to how it was.
Spirit Legends is a traditional RPG that began being created back in 1997 by my friend Kurt and myself. We were 10 at the time and we wanted to write a video game that featured all of our past and present pets. We wrote the entire game and then eventually it was lost over the years of not thinking about it. About 15 years later Kurt and I starting talking about it again, but were unable to find where it was saved anywhere. So, we tried our best to remember what we had wrote and filling in the blanks as best we could. Slowly over about a year's time I put little bits of time into making our childhood game. I hope anybody who plays will enjoy it. Thanks!

- 10 playable animal characters (cats and dogs)
- Lots of random video game, movie, and television references
- Bonus end game dungeon/boss
- 2 slightly different endings

robb, was going to download and try the game but 20min. is a long download at 12:45am :)
Maybe in Mi. where it's so damn cold you have nothing to do but sit and watch a download....but I ain't moving from FL. :)
Is it possible you might talk with someone who knows what they are doing to make a faster download ???? Maybe ????

I would love to do that, but I have no idea how. If you, or anybody, knows an easy way to do it I would gladly make it into a smaller file. But I will see what I can do when I get some time to work on that. Sorry for the inconvenience though :/
Update: I was able to cut the size about in half by deleting unused music files. So, hopefully it will be a little bit easier/faster to download. Hope that helps!

The plot truthfully sounds interesting to me. Then again, I'm 19 and still watch family oriented cartoons by myself (mostly Disney and Nick, sometimes Cartoon Network) so I'm used to seeing and enjoying ridiculous shit like this.

Ok a few things and some I forget where I saw them but surely you have a folder with text, etc. Some I do recall where I saw them and will mention it.

So far these are the ones I caught and as the story progresses will put down more if any are found. Over all I am impressed with your spelling and grammar. Im not an English teacher or anything so please dont think I am picking on you. Considering a great majority of the games are brilliantly made but a simple spell check isnt used seems to be the norm. Nice little game so far I think.

Sorry liliford, I just got off of work and got an e-mail that says the public link will be temporarily shut down. I'm going to try to fix that, or re-post it in a different way. I just removed the temporary ban, so it should work for a little while.
Sorry for the inconvenience and I will work on it as soon as I can to make a more reliable way to download it!

I am enjoying it. I love the fact I'm able to play as an animal in a game! When I first started, I shouted "Yes! I'm a cat!" and then I laughed like hell at myself.

Looks like it has hit 100 downloads, and that is pretty awesome! I hope people are actually enjoying it, I know fyreman666 has so far! (I'm glad I wasn't the only one who would appreciate playing as animals)
But let me know what you think of the game, I appreciate Roy's typing errors and would love to hear what everyone else thinks too. Please feel free to actually review the game if you end up finishing it.

I havent finished yet but is there going to be a sequel....soon?
Since this is a game that my friend and I wrote when we were 10 there was no sequel written. Plus, it ended up taking me like a year to actually make it, and I unfortunately do not have that same level of free time any more. So, a sequel is really unlikely unfortunately. But I'm glad that you would at least like there to be one!

Yes, there is a special weapon for all of the animals, all in the second overworld. I suppose here is as good a place to put where they are as any:
- Tootsie: Tiger's Claws are in New Haven in the bottom right of the map.
- Oreo: Reuben's Claws are in Columbus at the top of the map in the middle.
- Josie: Indi's Nails are in the North Mines, right by the boss.
- Brandy: Dak's Nails are in the bottom right of the Last Human Sanctuary, which is in the top left of the overworld map in some trees.
- Cody: Kiki's Claws are in the top right of Moo Moo Farm.
- Bailey: Pheobe's Claws are in the Decimated Tower, right by the boss.
- Kit: Brittany's Claws are right next to Pheobe's Claws in the Decimated Tower.
- Buster: Snead's Nails are sitting right in front of the Mysterious Castle.
- Saidie: Alex's Nails are also sitting in front of the Mysterious Castle.
- Penelope: Mandy's Nails are in the basement of the Mysterious Castle. To get there you have to go left, up, then right once inside the castle to find the stairs that go down, then it is in the last cell.
Hope that helps to be able to find them all, let me know if it's not clear enough.

The one thing I'm thinking of adding is some end game dungeon, but we'll see if that ends up happening or not. Other than that this game is pretty much finished. Hope you enjoyed it!

I have to admit that cave where the blimp is, confuses me. Its big and spacious and at places I cant remember if Ive even been there.all my critters are at least 27-28 but items are dropping fast and I am still pretty much lost.
Is there a heal spot hidden away in there somewhere or is this a place not reasonably done until youre in the 30s?

Yeah, some of the dungeons can be a bit difficult to navigate sometimes. If you want to try to take the easy way, in all of the dungeons there is always one constant landmark that will guide you all the way to where you need to go. Just like in the first forest you could follow the red flowers, you just have to look for it.
In the North Mines it is the green little plants that will guide you the correct way. So, if you start at the beginning and follow those you should be able to find it. And no, there are no heal spots inside there, sorry.
