Ulrika, a veteran warrior, and her disciple Ernest venture out into the wilderness to train. With Ulrika refusing to give any details about the nature of their quest, Ernest is left to advance blindly with dubious motives.

-Roughly an hour of gameplay.
-Recover fully and restock items after each encounter.
-Three skill trees per character.
-Two unique party members with different playstyles.
-Humorous storyline.

The game was made in less than a week for “An RM venture” contest in February 2014.

Online Achievement Update!

Hi everyone,

It's been a long time but this game just got an update.

A long time ago I made an online achievement system:
https://rpgmakeronline.org/

The plan was always to roll it out to more games but stuff happens. Anyway for this year's release something event I rewrote all the database code (as the plugin it used wasn't just depreciated it was removed) and have added online achievements to this game!

There are five achievements (one for each boss and one each for Ulrika and Ernest when they master eight skills), have fun!

This game is a blast! It makes collecting the skills really fun. I've almost beat it and I can't say enough good things about it :D
Just finished the game,
it is a great game the history, and engine are very
funny, waiting for a sequel !

Thnaks for the good time!!
Cool game! :D I loed every minute of it. I just wish it had lasted longer/was more difficult. Idk, maybe I "grinded" a little, but by the time I reached the castle I had already mastered all three skill trees, so I just escaped from every encounter afterwards... Anyway, the game's mechanics and skills were perfect for a game of this scope. You managed to keep things fresh with just a two-members party.

All other aspects of the game were cool as well: the art (those facesets <3), the mapping (Although, I'm not much of a fan of VXace's RTP), the music, but specially the writing. The story was a nice change of pace from the more typical epic or absurd quest. It was funny in a heart-warming kind of way. My only 'complain' would be that the ""Maste-" "ULRIKA!"" gag was repeated a bit too much.

One little oddity that I found is that you can lit both torches in the castle with just one amber-thingy in your possession, so you don't need to get the second one. Dunno if this was supposed to be this way or if it was just an oversight.

Anyway, this was a very enjoyable entry. It would be interesting indeed to see a sequel. =P

WOOOPS. The ember was a bug. Darnit. ><

Thanks for the praise and glad you enjoyed the game!

Honestly I believe you when you say the "master" joke was repeated a bit too much, but considering I evented and wrote he whole game in one night I was a bit on the vein of "FUCK THIS JUST GOGOGOGOGOGO!" XD

Me and Indrah had a short talk about shifting this game to Arum and then they could cameo but it's highly unlikely we'll make a direct sequel.

Thanks, doing a 2 party system was really interesting, before this project parties always ended up as 4 members. Having 2 allowed for their skills to be much closer tied together and also for me to get them done in time. Glad you enjoyed it!

Aww thanks, getting a game balanced nicely is something I find I could spend weeks doing and not always be 100% happy so I'm glad you found it balanced.
Hey guys, loved the game. There's something so simple and clean and polished about this. Great writing and solid mapping from Indrah; fresh, innovative systems and impeccable balance from Fomar (with a splash of very nice art from Hirei)... all in just a few days. You guys do some brilliant things with these short games. Can't wait to see your longer one looks like whenever it's done.
Done with this one too (I lool like a stalker now xD) Great mapping and battle system as always, guys. You two have such refreshing games, I can't get enough of these games! I really liked it, as unique as your other stories ;)
You've certainly worked your way through our games, is it just Dead Moon Night left of our games you haven't played?

keeping this really short didn't like it. the tree aspect was interesting otherwise.
im glad it was short
That ending sure tickled my fancy.
Thank you very much for this.
Again I find myself wishing that there was some sort of a tip jar.

Thanks, that's high praise, glad you enjoyed this game.
Excellent game, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked what you did with mastering the skill trees and the two different skill use systems that you developed (Ulrika's AD and Ernest's enchantment).

My only critique is that the game felt a bit too easy, but that's obviously personal preference. Perhaps this is because I quickly mastered the taunt ability so enemies only attacked Ulrika. The 50% damage boost on Salamander for having 0 enchantment was also very strong.
Glad you enjoyed the game and thanks for letting us know, as for difficulty it is really subjective, I know one solution is to have difficulty levels but then you end up increasing the testing time.
