Well, I guess everyone knows what they're diving into when downloading and starting to play this game, so complaints about the lack of story, don't know what to do or just get uber bored trying to figure out where to go are unfounded. This said, I'll proceed to review this game based on the game topic itself, pointless actions. Sorry for my english in advance, it's not my first language.

I'll divide my review into the next points:

Story: I wasn't expecting anything from this point, the game obviously doesn't have a story, since the game main plot is not having a story at all. You're a random guy named Ralph wandering around a very small and boring city, talking to people, opening chests, collecting gold on the ground and you can do some small quests too (if you want ofc). But that's pretty much all you can do in the game (not counting some random events that I don't want to spoil to a possible player). The interaction with objects is very limited and boring, most of them are reduced to simple texts, for example if you want to watch TV or use the bathroom, your actions are limited to "You watched TV" or "You used the bathroom", but that's it, for a game based on pointless actions and a relative freedom for the player, that's pretty boring and uninteresting. I'd like to mention the humor was ok, it was kept simple and enjoyable.

Characters: this is probably the worst aspect of the game, the characters are plain and boring, not to mention that many NPC are repeated and most of them will tell you the same again and again (yeah, even different characters). I don't know if the creator did this on purpose, but if that were the case, it ended up being plain and boring. The interaction with them will be limited to a small talk with or without choices, the one with choices are obviously the most interesting, some of them will lead to quests that will help you to get items and advance in the game, but again, this game is based on pointless actions, so don't expect any big change on your journey. The difficult of the quests is easy, but it can become harder when it comes to catch butterflies, the fun you have with them will depend on the player, I, myself, found it pretty plain.

Music: the BGM is quiet and simple, there is no variety, you will be listening to the same music during all your gameplay. There are other music, but you will rarely get to listen.

Enjoyment: you can have some fun at first with this game, the game invite you to explore and figure out what to do, this is a plus when you start, as you will be willing to interact with everything and find out new possibilities, but as you progress the game will get monotonous and limited, there is no variety, and once you have played for a while (let's say 1 hour depending on the player) you won't find anything else to do, the interactions are so limited that the only thing remaining for you to do will be trying quests, but as plain as they are, I have to say the game's life is very short.

I'll just remind people this is just MY opinion, I tried to be as objective as I could though. Try the game if you're the kind of person who doesn't care about story and wants something different, but doesn't expect any plot twist and such (as the ones you find when you think the game is just about humor but end up having a real plot), the game is as the creator said and probably intended, a game about pointless actions and that's it.

Let me first thank you for taking the time out of your day to write this review and giving feedback to me :3 Of the (currently) 350 people who have downloaded this game, only like 0.02% has said anything at all about it =.=;

Your English is quite good for only being your second language :o I only wish I could speak my (second? more like third) language as well as you do yours. Como estas, amigo xD Gracias por(para?) escribiendo esta critica!

I'm not going to hate on you (you don't need to remind people that it's your opinion-- it's a review, which is obviously an opinion, just as a review on a movie is your opinion as to whether or not you liked the movie) and I respect that when you release something to hundreds- even tens- of people, some of them are going to like it and some of them aren't.

And, admittedly, parts of your review do ring true. Pointless Actions is just what the title suggests :D There really isn't a storyline, but there are a bunch of small things littered everywhere that even I've forgotten where I've put some of them xD

Your rating of the game is much more realistic and more about the technical/gameplay aspects of it than the impact (which really does differ between players, I must say), and I understand your reasons for rating it the way you did. Compared to some of the really great indie games out there-- well, Pointless Actions can't compare xD

Again, thank you for taking the time to write this review~
You're welcome, to be honest this is one of the few RPG Maker games I've played for longer, I usually get bored quickly with most of them, I have to say this one caught my interest. I guess I'm mostly into comedy games with some freedom to do whatever you want.

I'd like to let you know my rating might seem bad, but actually I rate most games this way, I almost never rate with 3 or 4 stars lol, it's just me, 2 stars to me are like 3 or 4 for other people. Also my rating here is about the game overall, the impact of the game is still an important aspect to me.

And well, your game still has a lot of potential, if you improve some aspects and maybe add more freedom to the player, I'm sure it will be a lot better, and trust me, you don't need a lot of scripts or a complex story to make your game as good as those "great" games out there.

PD: I still have a long way to learn english, I slightly improved by talking a lot to people xD And I hope you can review my game when I finish it too, it's been months since I started it and can't get to finish yet.
