Evolved Revolution takes place on an alternate world, Iyosh. The setting is a
modern fantasy environment, mixed with various cultures and ideaologies. It
tells the story of young, unlucky brothers, Mahir, Zaiden, Abbas and Rayn, who
are burdened with the reponsibility of ensuring the safety of their world's future.

Each of them are adept in their own styles of fighting, have their own set of abilities,
and are uniquely gifted in other aspects of life, but their greatest strength lies in
their brotherly bond. Whether they follow the path of righteous, or commit evil to
destroy the even greater evil depends on the choices they will be forced to make as
they realise the stakes are far greater than they could ever imagine.

Follow the brothers as they travel the realm, gathering allies along the way, and battle
not only tough enemies, but typical life challenges along the way! Experience the open
world of Iyosh through many in depth arcs, and help this slowly growing crew with their
day-to-day challenges.

  • Immersive Main Story (with many side quests)

*Will include side quests like treasure and monster hunting, Dungeon Crawling, typical
everyday NPC quests and many more. Will try to include NPC awareness and reputation.

  • Vast Open World to explore

*Gonna try and implement some sandbox elements.

  • Drivable vehicles and rideable mounts

*To make exploration of large open areas less tedious.

  • Over 20 different playable characters, all with unique stories

*Each character will have a specific job/quest/hobby that they can do. Does this help
with character development? Maybe, but will see what happens when I get there.

  • A variety of different and powerful enemies who get stronger as you level up

*Enemies will level with you.
*Also, I am planning to implement something of a solo leveling system, so that most,
if not all playable character will be roughly the same level. So no individual
grinding will be necessary.

  • Modern World with Fantasy Elements (Magic, Different Races, etc.)

*Picture our world, with elves and orcs etc. Magic plays a significant role in Iyosh
as one of the main sources of power to generate electricity.

  • XAS Action System With Ally-System

*Ally system successfully implemented thanks to LittleDrago.

  • Ability to Lock Pick

*Will be limited to only when a certain character is in the active party.

  • Hunger and Thirst System

*Stay fed and hydrated or suffer the consequences.

  • Day and Night System (WIP)

*To implement timed events and sequences.

  • Crafting (Alchemy and Blacksmithing)

*The know how to craft armor and weapons, and formulate beneficial medicines
or lethal poisons.

  • Minigames

*Included as part of the sandbox elements, but will include silly arcade games,
quick time events, and other small activities.

March 2022 Progress

I've decide to change the battle system entirely from ACBS to XAS. Though I liked ACBS for
its fast-pace battles and traditional RPG mechanics, I simply found XAS to be more appealing
and interactive. Customisation of scripts and sprites is less tedious, although use of events
do add extra work but it is manageable.

I started this project since I was in the 6th grade and it has come a long way since then,
with many revamps and only one demo release. It was not even that good a demo I admit, but hey,
being young and heavily influenced by anime says a lot. Life happens and I do not always find
the time to work on this project, but I'll be damned if I give up on it now. I don't care how
long it takes me, I will finish this project. Working on two different stories as well as
attending university is very exhausting.

I prefer RPG Maker XP as opposed to the more recent versions of RPG Maker. I contemplated using
RPG Maker VX Ace and MV at some point, but I feel more comfortable using XP. If I was skilled in
unity or unreal engine, I would've used it by now. I would've loved for this project to be 3D open
world game. I did try to do something with unity, but then I realised that I would've had to put a
lot more time than I do now in this project, and I have a lot in mind for this game. Learning to
code is also another story. So I've just decided that I might as well just stick with something
small and relatively more easy to use.

Current Status

Story Completion/Lore: 11%

*Tried to make a guideline story for reference sake. Decided to just wing it as I have
another story in the making that was a potential next project, but I have some good ideas
for the main and side story that I want to insert. Still trying to work out the lore for
the game.

Map Design: 25%

*I believe this to be the biggest headache, nevermind the eventing.

Event Making: 30%

*I'd say I'm about average in skill when it comes to making events.

Character Designs and Related Graphics: 35%

*Character sprites and face graphics are easy enough to customize. The avatars are
the hard part (Only for the main characters). I've tried drawing them myself, but I
suck at digital drawing, so I've taken to using customized Naramura resources and
various web character art. This section also includes npcs and other character/object
sprites, but these are mainly sprites found on various websites. Currently organizing
everything for easy access. Hard to find the proper permissions for resources used,
but the game is non-commercial so I'll take no credit for any resource used.

Animation and Effects: 80%

*Found some decent animations on various sites. Very little customization is needed
though.

Scripting: 90%

*Thankfully, the most I've done in terms of scripting is customization.

General Graphics (Panamoras, Fogs, Interface, Icons, In-Game Pictures): 60%

*About in the middle in terms of priority. Fogs and Pans are easy enough to find.
The menu interface like, title screen or pause menu etc are more concerning for me.
I am trying to find a style that complements the tone of the game.

Miscellaneous (i.e Abilities and Magic, Items, Weapons and Clothing, Game System, etc): 50%

*Goes without saying what this is. This can be completed in a short amount of
time but is currently the lowest priority item at the moment.

Music: 100%

*I heavily rely on music to give me inspiration. Ironically, the Audio folder will
be the largest file in terms of size compared to the overall game size.

Like I said, life happens and I will not work on this project constantly.
