Not really, the art style is completely different and doesn't look so much like the sprite to me as a completely different character.
This piece is pretty amazing, I'd have liked it if she had a bit more of an edge, though! Elise is supposed to be a badass.
If it makes you feel better, I love booble's work and am subscribed to this game (which is how I got first post saying that it's awesome).

yeah, it is kind of funny, but, nobody seemed to think it was stupid when that guy did kinetic cipher 'fanart' and it was just the fucking rtp charsets
RTP charsets don't already have a specific character attached to them. (I do get your drift, though. Brickroad himself admitted it when I did the KC cast cosplaying as Chrono Trigger characters.)

If you're gonna pay for artwork (even if it's free in this case), why not do the same for your actual in-game characters? If you're gonna do it, go all the way!
