Progress report for February 11- March 10

Tuesday, March 10
Where does the time go...

Monday, March 9
It feels great to be back. The basic style will be similar to that of the screenshots prior to February, but the outlines won't all be black any more. I made the map of Lakelan Town in this new, final style- it's time to get moving.

Thursday, February 19 through Sunday, March 8
Was on hiatus due to rethinking of the project.
The hiatus ended early due to inspiration from the RMN Podcast 8. Development re-starts on Monday, March 9th.

Wednesday, February 18
Just cleaning house. I think it looks better to have blog entries on two pages than seven.

Monday, February 16 & Tuesday, February 17
Unfortunately, there was no progress these two days.

Sunday, February 15
Not a lot happening, just tried doing a small map using my tablet. I guess it sort of counts as progress.

Saturday, February 14
Just thought about a better way to make the maps that won't look so flat, and allow the player to see the illusion of elevation in a 2D world.

Friday, February 13
How scary! Actually, Friday the 13th isn't too much to me. I added a bit of story in between chapters 1 and 2, and rewrote a bit of the walkthrough in the Lair of the Queen Bee.

Thursday, February 12
Thought up a faster way to get around the world. There are several Travel Centers in each area, so at worst you only have to cross two or three maps before getting to one.

Of course, each of the Travel Centers are only open once visited. This gets around the lack of Teleport in RMXP/RMVX.

Example:
Travel Center A is visited first.
A (open) - B (closed) - C (closed)
Travel Center C is visited first.
A (unlocked)---->B (unlocked)---->C (open)
Travel Center B is visited first.
A (unlocked)---->B (open) - C (closed)

Wednesday, February 11
Finished the Travel Center map. I feel now I have a good base to work on- it's hard to add events when there's no maps to put them on, after all.
