Elements and weapon attributes
To spice up the combat a bit compared to earlier titles, Dragon Kingdoms: Birth of a Legend has effects added to
various elemental and physical attacks and spells.

Fire Element: Fireball, Fireblast, Fireburst, Nova Flame
Fire spells are no longer automatically learned, but can be unlocked at certain levels. However, is it worth
losing an earlier spell that costs less and has a certain effect? You decide.

Fire spells can lower defense, increase the chance of getting Burn status and lose turns, and even KO the target,
should they be Oily. Burn cancels Freeze status. Keep in mind this applies to your party as well!

Ice Element: IceCube, Iceblast, Iceburst, Winter's Wrath
Ice spells can harden the target (so be careful), increase the chance of Freeze, cause the targets to get
Sick, and cancel Burn status.

Thunder Element: Thunderbolt, Thunderclap, Thunderstorm, Thor's Fury
Thunder spells can Shock the target but increase the charge in machines (higher ATK) and temporarily lower
intelligence.

Water Element: Aquaball, Wavestorm, Tsunami, Poseidon's Anger
Water spells can dampen the target (lower AGI) and reduce strength and defense. They can also WashOut the
target (lower MAX HP in battle)

Wind Element: Gale, Gust, Windstorm, Hurricane
Wind spells can blow protective layers of their targets away (lower DEF) increase the chance of an unlucky
blow, and increase AGI. They have the chance to Blow Away weaker targets.

Earth Element: Rockpillars, Tremor, Quake, Gaia's Fury
Earth spells can break a Frozen target (instant KO), increase DEF, decrease AGI, lower INT (when ShakenUp).

Holy Element: DragonLight, DracoBeam, Dragonblast, Divine Retribution
Holy spells strike fear into Dark enemies, can lower ALL stats and may KO undead enemies. If used on Holy-type enemies,
stats may instead INCREASE. Look out.

Dark Element: Ghast, DemonBeam, Devil's Breath, Lucifer's Song
Dark spells strike Fear into Holy enemies but can increase stats greatly. Any target (except bosses)
may die instantly.

Cold = Obviously corresponds to our Winter. It is a time where snow covers the land. It lasts from December to March.
Beauty = our Spring. Life begins to return to the land. It is the wettest season. It lasts from March to June.
The last frosts occur in late April or May.
Scorching = Summer. It’s a very hot time where plants might even dry up in places, and it lasts from June to September.
Decay = Fall/Autumn. While still mild, the change in light causes the plants to change color and/or go dormant.
It’s also the driest season overall. Later, frosts return to the land. It lasts from September to December.

Characters:
Akahr
Age: 21
Height: 6 ft
Weight: 170 lbs.

William
Age: He looks about 16, yet you get the feeling he's been around a LONG time.
Height: About 100 feet tall!
Weight: Approximately 500 tons.
Birthday: March 24
Brown spiky hair/blue eyes

William is part of a race of giants known as Gigans, beings that are on average 20 times as tall and 8,000 times
as big as humans. Despite his great size, he's quite friendly, though there are times that certain people push
him a bit too far. He knows of Akahr from the beginning of the quest, even when Akahr tries to ignore his
existence. It's said he's the reason that the Titans, horrifically destructive and massive beings, are sealed off
from the rest of the world.

ITEM SHOP:
Healing Leaf, Healing Herb, Magical Leaf
(Only get the healing leaf if you are low on cash)

Chili pepper, Icicle, Electrozapper, Splashstone, Quakestone, Galeweed, Sparkler, Energystone, Amanita, Crystal bomb
(You can find chili peppers, electrozappers, splashstones, quakestones, amanitas and galeweeds quite readily
around town, so only buy icicles, sparklers, energystones and crystal bombs)

Power Punch, Stamina Steak, Fast Feather, Mackerel
(Right now, most of these are overkill to the weaker enemies, but consider getting fast feathers just to move
before the enemies, or also to cross the vast expanses of land)

Putrid Punch, Seething Steak, Failure Feather, Rotten Fish
(Most enemies around Lakeland have low strength and defense already and almost no intelligence, so that just
leaves agility. Get the failure feathers.)

WEAPON/ARMOR SHOP:
(Dragon Kingdoms: Birth of a Legend is pretty good about starting you with decent equipment, so you should be
covered until reaching the farming region or even the second pass over the plains near the lair of the queen bee.
At that time, get a stronger sword, a boomerang, and better armor)

Items that can be found: Chili pepper, Jalapeno, Electrozapper

ITEMS

-Healing-

-Fire effect-
Chili pepper - 300 Dracon, sell for 150. Don't buy these, you can get them in the bushes around town. Good for
making some money if you have patience.
Does about 50 points of Fire damage (basically Fire 1.5)

-Ice effect-
Icicle - 320 Dracon, sell for 160. They're rare in this area, so go ahead and buy some if you can.
Does about 50 points of Ice damage to an enemy.

-Thunder effect-
Electrozapper - 340 Dracon, sell for 170. They're relatively uncommon, but not as rare as Icicles. If you can hold
out until you get to the Swamp of Disappointment to the west, do so.
Does about 50 points of Thunder damage to an enemy.

-Water effect-
Splashstone - 360 Dracon, sell for 180. They're not terribly rare, as Lakeland has a LOT of water around. Why spend
360 DRC for something you can find?
Does about 50 points of Water damage.

-Earth effect-
Quakestone - 380 Dracon, sell for 190. They're fairly common in rocky areas, such as the cliffs north of town and also
in the highlands immediately west of town.
Does about 50 points of Earth damage.

-Wind effect-
Galeweed - 400 Dracon, sell for 200. There's a plains-type area not too long after the Swamp of Disappointment, and
they're quite expensive, so why buy them?
Does about 50 points of Wind damage.

-Holy effect-
Sparkler - 500 Dracon, sell for 250. Sparklers can be found in the desert area immediately after the Hang Gliding
event, so why buy them?
Does about 75 points of Holy damage.

-Dark effect-
Energystone - 666 Dracon, sell for 333. Energystones are quite vile things that can be found in dark places. As thus,
they can only be found at night or in dreadful places such as the Foothills of Fear north of the Lair of the Queen Bee.
Does about 75 points of Dark damage.

-Poison effect-
Amanita - 700 Dracon, sell for 350. Amanitas are common in the Swamp of Disappointment, and they sound like
"A man eat-a", and are quite poisonous.
Does about 85 points of Poison damage.

-Non-elemental effect-
Crystal bomb - 1000 Dracon, sell for 500. They are very rare, but if you can find them in the wild, you'll save a lot
of money. You won't have to worry about the enemy's weaknesses or strengths with these.
Does about 100 points of non-elemental damage.

-Buffs-
Power Punch- 600 Dracon, sell for 300. Power Punch can sometimes be found in the wild.
This item doubles your attack power for a time.
Stamina Steak- 600 Dracon, sell for 300.
Eat this for defense like a tank, doubling the normal value.
Fast Feather- 600 Dracon, sell for 300.
They can make you fly across the battlefield (double walk speed) or double your agility in battle.
Mackerel- 600 Dracon, sell for 300.
This fish contains oils that can temporarily make you smarter (double intelligence).

-Debuffs-
Putrid Punch- 600 Dracon, sell for 300. Putrid Punch is Power Punch that, uh, has been sitting out for a while, and
has the opposite effect.
It LOWERS an enemy's attack power without the annoying chance to fail that a spell might have.
Seething Steak- 600 Dracon, sell for 300.
Seething Steak lowers the enemy's stamina, without having to worry about failing.
Failure Feather- 600 Dracon, sell for 300.
Failure Feathers lower the enemy's agility and make them move slower outside of battle.
Rotten Fish- 600 Dracon, sell for 300. This fish isn't looking - or smelling- so good.
Should the enemy be stupid enough to eat this, they will get even more stupid and have weaker spell power.
