Updates and Demos

I had to drop working on this game for a few months while I finished up college, but I'm back to making it. It's still a ways away from being finished, but I'm confident it's still on track for release by the end of the year.

At the end of this month, I plan to release a Demo of the game. The demo will contain the Prologue and Day 1. This section of the game is already complete. I'm currently working on Day 2 (and technically Day 4 as well. Aren't branching paths fun?), and it's almost complete as well. The finished game will have 7 Days in total.

Earlier, I actually managed to spook myself while playtesting, which is the first time that's happened in developing this game or its predecessor. It's amazing what can be done with lighting and sound (I got a nice pack of horror sounds and music off a Steam sale a while back, since I try to limit my resources to non-commercial scripts and Enterbrain-backed resources).

I added two more screenshots yesterday. I should note that a few screens are now outdated. In one you can see Tori walking around with a flashlight beam. I've long since replaced the flashlight with a lantern, and you can see the light radius from that in a few screens. At any time, you can toggle the lantern on or off by pressing the A key. It's makes it easier for you to see in the dark, but it also increases the sight range of enemies, making you easier to spot.

Anyway, that's all I got to say. I hope to knock out Day 2 tonight and get started working on Day 3, which should be a fun one. See you guys later.
