Bug Fixing Ahoy!

So, I had some issues to iron out, apparently.

For one, some of the endings weren't being shown in the menu. It would count that you'd found that ending but it wasn't turning the switch for it on, thus not giving the visual addition to the menu. This was caused by putting the switch change after the save instead of before, and is now fixed.

Another issue I had overlooked was that I'd used the Confirm key as the button needed to get out of the Achievements menu. This was dumb. It has now been changed to cancel as that makes a billion times more sense.

The biggest issue, though, was that I had somehow forgotten to include the item eventing. Yup. Just straight up forgot to add that in. It has now been rectified and when you collect certain items they will show up in the menu as collected. Woo?

The menu is still a bit janky. I'm not sure why - it should work just fine but there's some strange lag when you go to save and sometimes when you try to exit. I've fiddled with the event a bit more and hopefully it's running a bit better but it may just be a problem with the engine processes when it comes to evented systems. That, or I did a dumb somewhere that I missed.

Hey, at least it works though! Mostly. Woo?

Lastly, I added a file that was found to be missing, so one of the endings won't keep demanding said file.

Anyway, barring any other unfortunate bugs, this is it for Splork's game. The updated game version will be up a little later (bigger file means bigger upload time).

Definitive Edition + New Game to Come

Hey all!
So I'm not great at this ol' blog thing, it has to be said, but I finally got around to finishing this game off in completion! Woot? Woot!

What does this mean for Splork?
It means extra endings and new achievements with some new stuff thrown in as well!

When the game was first released there were a total of 5 endings, despite there being 6 written in the description. So I went back and added an extra ending... and then added another on top just for the fun of it!

It was a bit of a pain to find a plug-in that use global switches - most of them required that you save after the switch is turned on, which would be hard to reload from as they usually saved in the same slot as your last save, overwriting your progress up to that point. So I fudged my way around that by giving due warning not to save in Slot 24 and having a manual save occur in that slot after the switch for specific endings turns on. This means you can reload from your last saves and look for other endings instead of having to play the game all over again! Neat, eh?

THEN I decided to do with Splork what I did with Seer Dell: Dragon, my other comedic game and throw achievements into the mix. There are seven different achievements you can get through-out the game and they act in much the same way as the endings in that they carry across save files - but you'll have to initiate a save manually after you get them else they'll be lost!

So yes, definitive edition is go! Get it now~

In other news, I have another community game set up in the same world as this one, with OldPat as the main character! You'll be able to engage with the community again, but this time with even more people joining in! There'll be new places to explore, new friends to find and a whole slew of quests to engage in! Look forward to seeing P4 aka Playful Pat's Petting Pursuit in the near future!

Until then, Splork loves you~<3
