Vampires are creatures that live amidst the darkness of eternal night. They have absolutely no regard for human lives and treat them like stones to be kicked away.

One night, a girl was running in a forest while being chased by three bandits. Then a black-clothed man passed by and subsequently took them down easily. The girl, who thought she was saved by him, wanted to repay him and thus invited him to her village.

......The man, who was actually a vampire, smiled and accepted her invitation. After all, the more prey, the merrier......

Nocturne: Rebirth (月夜に響くノクターン Rebirth) is a popular 10 to 20-hour (story-wise) dark fantasy JRPG originally created using RPG Maker XP in 2009 by Shou (or Cogwheel) and translated into English by me, eplipswich. It is actually the remake of the game Nocturne created using RPG Maker 2000 way back in 2002. The differences between the two include new graphics and a new battle system, with only the story virtually unchanged. This version serves as the English version of Nocturne: Rebirth. It is also my second game translation after Seraphic Blue.

Nocturne: Rebirth is notable for
- A highly original ATB battle system
- Touch-based enemy encounters
- Slick battle animations
- A highly versatile character levelling system via skill upgrades
- Unique Familiar Summon System
- Almost 100% custom graphics
- Characters that players can sympathize with
- Unique soundtracks
and so much more!

Japanese Trailer (Will make an English trailer in the future):

Latest Blog

Blog 18: Boy, has it been a while. 10,000 downloads and what's been going on

Well, first of all, this is late, but better late than never. Nocturne Rebirth has officially become one of the big boys of 10k downloads, so congrats on that!

So if you've been wondering what has been going on, I'm still translating the visual novel called Aiyoku no Eustia, so once again, if you're interested in that, you can check it out at https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/16982-aiyoku-no-eustia-translation-project-partial-patch-is-out/

Then what about the RPG Maker scene? Remember what I said before about the game Hat World/Hatalonia at http://rpgex.sakura.ne.jp/littleworld/? Well, a revamp of it just got released about 7 months ago, with the latest version just released last month! I'm currently playing it, and I'm really enjoying it! Truly, I feel this game deserves to be translated. But I will only most likely embark on translating this game after I'm done playing it and I'm substantially done with translating Aiyoku no Eustia, so it'll be a long wait. Hopefully you'll see a game page of Hatalonia here next year! So do look forward to it.

So yep, that's really it from me for now. Till next time!

@zeph229: Good job figuring it out! I think you and one other person here are the first ones here to figure it out. Even I didn't know about this before :)

It would be good if you can put that in spoiler, though, since I would like others to figure it out by themselves as well (use the "hide" and "/hide" tags with the square brackets).

True and done. honestly I didn't know either I'm not sure why I even did it lol and I'm not sure how many it actually works on but when I tried to do it again I just couldn't. It's a really low chance. I must've tried it at least another like 30+ times and it didn't work at all.

I'd say it's a low enough chance and might not even work on at least 25% of the bosses in the game like at all that it's not even worth relying on or even worth trying unless you're super bored and have about an hour of time to kill xD. I just got super lucky. I'd say getting drops like garnet are probably like a super high chance of getting those compared to what I did actually happening.

tl;dr : there's probably absolutely no point in bosses having a resistance because the chances of it actually happening are just way too low and there's almost no point in even trying. lol

edit: changed my previous post a bit lol and the spoilers are... a little different xD changed for the safety of time and space itself!

best most unexpected moment on my new file. made preperations, saved just before the boss of mystic forest, made plans of what familiar gets what sorcery.

okay I'm good lets start the battle,
I used the ultimate technique to absolutely annihilate the boss, a technique so powerful it scattered his entire being across and infinite amount of different dimensions but the technique is so powerful that the chances of it being repeated in the history of the universe is on an unimaginably low scale that it may never happen again and the technique is so powerful if repeated a second time it will rip the entirety of time and space inside out and cause it to collapse in on itself into absolute nothingness as if it never existed to begin with.

unexpected, how many bosses aren't resisted to The Ultimate Technique in this game? lol

edit: so I saved in a new slot just incase and went back now I can't do it again, just keeps missing lol but it's possible xD

so many missed Ultimate Techniques idk what made me even do it in the first place lol

just because, I had to go back and beat him normally.

e..can tell me what kind ultimate technique?
Nice revision of your post to call it the ultimate technique, zeph. Haha.

gabranth, it would be good if you can figure it out on your own, but besides zeph, there is one other person who has posted here and has figured it out.

Just a word of note, though. It doesn't work all the time.

@gabranth I could tell you but as I said about time and space turning inside out and stuff, and honestly even if I told you or you found out on your own the chances of it happening make it pretty much unreliable, it's faster to beat the boss yourself and even if you lose to the boss like 20+ times before you finally win it would still be faster to just beat the boss normally.
but if you can figure it out good job, just don't count on it working even once. or more than once if you can figure it out by having it happening.

@eplipswich lol thanks xD, at first I was just going to put something really simple in the spoiler that's hidden like how I just called it The Ultimate Technique, but that was too simple, so I added extra stuff and who knows it might be the truth lol

That is probably the BIGGEST understatement and probably ever will be in the history of time.

I feel like if it worked on all bosses(since im not sure if it even does), the time getting it to work on each individual boss would turn this game from 10-20 hours into closer to the 100 hour mark, just on bosses alone trying to get it to work.
In the final dungeon, is there a guaranteed encounter for the angel looking enemy?

Nope. In fact, there are a few other monsters that do not openly appear roaming about in the dungeon (eg. Leviathan, Dinosaur). That's how rare those monsters are.
Any tips for the final boss? The damage just becomes unmanageable when the boss's ally steps in.

My advice is,
kill Khaos first. Don't focus on Shylphiel or else the barrier will eventually take effect, meaning Khaos will reflex, and you know how painful his magic spells are. If you focus on Khaos first, Shylphiel will reflex instead, and she's less threatening than Khaos.

And because Khaos is almost purely an elemental mage, try to equip as many skills and equipment that boost elemental defenses as you can.

Also, I think you already know this, but Khaos has an ultimate skill that takes some time to charge, so just be alert of it when it comes, especially if you're focusing on downing him first.

I saw in your video that you use Evil Swordsman. That's actually an excellent familiar to use since he has the strong magic defense to protect against Khaos. Just be aware of Shylphiel though as you're probably already aware that Evil Swordsman has poor physical defense.

The other familiar is up to you, but I personally like the Sky Dragon. Leviathan may be another great familiar to use since it has a delay skill, which is also especially helpful.

And I'm not sure if you have already captured the angel, but yeah, I would agree that then angel will definitely help out a lot here. It's good to have as many healers as possible. It's not necessary, though.

Hope I've given enough tips to help you defeat the final boss. Good luck!
UGH...

The videos I had recorded didn't record the sound and I had all the bosses recorded and everything =_=;;;; Sooo yeah, I have to cancel the boss videos of the game. But I am going to be making a review of the game in a couple days, so look forward to that at least. :p

Aww. Well, perhaps you can add custom music to the videos?

Either way. I'll be sure to look forward to the review :)
@J-Man: That's a shame. I was curious as to how you fared against the bosses.

@eplipswich: Thanks, I finally managed to Brave Clear the final boss and unlock the bonus area.
The tester NPC, Tsuchi, said the strongest sword is "Setsuna". Is this in a chest or is it a random drop?

It's a drop :)

EDIT: Grats on defeating the bonus boss Round 1, btw ;) Now onward to Round 2 :p
Thanks. Also, does Royal Crest work for maxed out basic spells like Wind Whip or does it only apply to stronger spells that have 6 SCT like Sword Rondo?

Actually, now that I check again, I may have translated the description a little wrongly. Yep, Royal Crest applies only to spells with 6 SCT.
I finally got Setsuna to drop, though it appears to drain Reviel's HP despite being like Roshule but with Atk and Mag reversed. However, the description claims it has the spirit of speed. Does that mean it also increases Reviel's speed in battle?

Edit: NVM, it really did boost his speed to insane levels (200+). Is there anything I can equip to deal with the HP drain though?

Setsuna is like Full Moon Sword, which deals gradual physical damage to self. So equip accessories that reduce physical damage (eg. Stone Ring).
I started playing this a few days ago, and the gameplay is really the crown jewel here. Rather addictive, I must say. =) I have it a nod for the Misaos.

Thanks for the support for this game, Luchino! :) Glad that you're having fun with the game.
Bonus Boss round 2

I managed to take out Tae, only for someone to revive her. Who was it? And can all of them revive each other?

Also, I noticed there's an empty slot before the elemental bracelets in the item glossary, which I assume is the physical bracelet (Stone Bracelet?). Is this also a random drop?
