One of my main goals with this game has been to make it not look like a typical RPG Maker game; Specifically with the maps, I didn't want to just have a bunch of blocky tiles. As a result I'm going to be hand drawing all of the locations, but a problem I ran into early on was having the pixelly sprites stand out a little too much against my backgrounds. As a result I've had to go back and give all my sprites an added bit of anti-aliasing:

Looks good, but remember, in any tile-based engine like RPG Maker there will always be a bit of "blockiness".

The sprite is great but could use a little more color/shading in the hair and face to give it some depth, especially if you are trying to avoid the blocky appearance. Try reducing the darker colors of the outline in the side view to help it blend better.

^Thanks, I'm actually considering redoing all the sprites at a slightly higher resolution.
I ended up going back and redoing all my sprites in the end after all...
