Overview:
You remember being a kid. You remember eating your first slice of pizza at the local pizzeria. You remember how the cheese would slip off the crust and onto your new jeans. You remember that one cute employee who refilled your soda a little more than the others. You remember running out of tokens for the arcade and smacking the machines when they didn't work; and you remember how one of the animatronics winked at you and proceeded to flirtatious shake its hips at you the rest of the night.

Oh you don't?

Well, on one night at the Steeze Pizzeria, something like that happened.

Gameplay:
One Night at the Steeze is a JPRG with Dark Souls elements in terms of level progression, difficulty and overall environment exploration. You collect tokens from battles and use them to increase your "Pizza Club Rank" or level, to gain new skills to face the horrors of the pizzeria with. Alternatively, you could take the quick and dirty route and pick up trash for some "counterfeit" ways to dispatch your enemies. You're at the pizzeria to have fun, just don't expect a to see a friendly face if you venture too far in.

Features:
  • Souls-like gameplay!

  • Earthbound/Mother 3- inspired graphics!

  • Inspired by Five Nights at Freddie's!

  • Music by Queen!

  • Strange sense of humor!

  • A cute pizzeria employee!

  • PIZZA!

Post Release!

Heyo! First order of business is to say, "THANKS!"

Really, thanks for taking the time to download my first rpgmaker project. It's my first foray into using this engine and I've gotta say, the community and support for it is great! I do admire mastery of encapsulation RM has, especially considering the amount of control it gives you outright; it's very important and probably most helpful for developers really.

This post is also to serve as a secrets/mild walkthrough guide for those who think they have missed anything!

So SPOILER warning for those who want to go in blind!

OPTIONAL BOSSES:
  • There are 2 optional bosses, the Rustled Chef and the Restrained Mascot.

  • The Chef can be found in the kitchen while the Mascot can be found by breaking the vent in the room you started out in.

  • However, they both require you to have certain items equipped to fight them. The Chef requires the Rusty Spatula, which can be seen when first entering the vents. And the Mascot requires the Cracked Clown Statue, which can be found by breaking the vents next to the stage.

  • Each boss will drop another piece of equipment upon defeat, which in addition to adding to your stats, gives you another skill.

HITTING THINGS:
  • You can use the A key to remove things in your way, but can also use it to gain extra items! Really, the designed intent here was to provide a secondary way of interacting with the environment, and in hindsight, probably could've been implemented better.(ala zelda or most adventure games)

  • Hitting vending machines, contrary to real life, will give you a free Candy Bar!

EASY MODE?:
  • Don't want to level up and just want to experience the story? Invest in Pop Rocks and Firecrackers! They'll make short work of enemies if you got enough of them.

Again, thanks for looking at One Night at the Steeze!

Cute souls, chap.
Subscibed!
Looks interesting, I think I'm going to love it.
If there are two endings, I found them both. If there are more than two, then I only found two. Liars turn the employee on apparently o_O

I'm guessing it wasn't intentional, but you can get the candy bar in the ball pit repeatedly. On the other hand, the game is pretty short and easy, so it's probably not a big deal anyway.

And Wibbly Ball Pit Monster!
I loved it! I'm working on a review for it right now.

You're magical to me.

This was a fun little game! ^_^ How many different endings are there?
@unity there are only 2, just y/n to the question at the end. I wanted to put more endings but i had limited time

After getting the normal end, I spent a lot of time looking for a cat because I thought I missed something.

I also kept going back to the empty room in the kitchen. I thought for sure there would be something in there at some point.

In all fairness, bird shrapnel isn't as deadly as wood shrapnel

Not too shabby a game. I liked it. Might write a review in the coming days. :3

Thanks- I'll get right to it. ^^
Alright. I've been meaning to play this since forever, and I've finally got a bit of time for games this weekend. I'll jot down my impressions as I go.

-I adore the title screen music. It seems just right for the kind of tone/content clash Steeze is going for.

-Game start is a little abrupt, although I dig the 198X joke. There's a brief drop in engagement as I'm popped unceremoniously into the map, but then the atmosphere wins me right back over again.

-The music drop when you hit the kitchen, combined with the red stain outside the industrial microwave, is terrifying. Really good use of small, dissonant elements to completely change the game's tone.

-"This is the sink. Arguably where the real magic happens." I've worked foodservice. You have no idea how much I sympathize with this statement.

-Level ups give abilities and stats as one package, but don't involve any choice other than whether to spend the tokens or not. I'm a little disappointed, as I love the soulslike formula, and build-choices are a big component of that.

-Rustled Chef does not appear to take damage from poison. If it does, the game does not announce it. Still, I think I was able to kill it this way. I fought it at Pizza Rank 4, poisoned it, lamed the rest of the battle out with heals, and the first time I hit it with a regular attack was for 31 damage, which killed it.

-The choice on whether to kill the squirming sock puppet: 100% awesome and horrifying.

-I really dig the personality on everything in the pizzaria. The boiler in particular.

-Confident strike one-shots nearly everything, bosses included, and pizza stacks are so frequent that there's almost no reason not to use it on any fight that's the remotest bit challenging.

-Killing the sock puppet and then re-loading leaves the puppet still dead. Weird.

-Got the normal end, then the jailbait end, but I can't seem to find any other endings. I took out the chef and the clown. Is there anything I'm missing?

-Overall, this is a really solid, atmospheric experience for about half an hour's worth of play time. There was no challenge to the battles, which was a shame, but the exploration felt souls-y. The atmosphere was great, and the grimness that hovered around the edges (I was not expecting the jailbait ending, in which the "you were abused in a pizzaria" subtext became abruptly text ) only ever intruded the right amount. This was good as a creepypasta, but never too heavy-handed, and the humor and earthbound aesthetics helped a ton in keeping the mood complex and engaging. I really enjoyed playing this. Thank you for making it.
Also I caught a typo in the overview. You have "flirtatious" instead of "flirtatiously".
Having already played No Delivery, had to eventually play this one :P Here's Part 1 of 2 of my Let's Play -
