A game with a space schoolgirl and a psycho plush toy? Oh yes!

Hello players!
Here we are with another game, even if this is a demo thst I can confirm it entertained me for little less than an hour, so it's not really short, and it also feels like a complete game (it even has some nice ending credits).
The title of the game is Usagito Watashi, and was made with RPG Maker VX Ace by CARRIONBLUE (aka Moga, if you go on itch.io!) for the event a 'A Game By It's Cover 2016' (taking inspiration from a coverart made by Achabox!).

This is not the first game I reviewed of this author, for example we have:
Halo's Mixtape
I'm Scared of Girls
xOMBYCAPYSE
AND ESPECIALLY
Ghost Suburb II: From Beyond Sleep Into The Eyes of Madness
... that as you can see was my favourite of the bunch... so far!

Anyway why did I mention the other games? Well because this game offers a similar surreal setting, custom made characters, cuteness and creepiness!

Poor little guy! Take some water and stay hydrated, my friend!

In this game we play as Reido, the space schoolgirl with a knack for hitting things and gadgetry and Dr. Asagi, the psichotic plushie of a pink rabbit that's also a doctor (well, hence the "Dr."!). Reido wakes up in a world threatened by a cosmic menace, and so here she is, forced to cosplay and kill monsters by some magical anime doll! How cool is that?

The game is a classic rpg adventure with the classic rpgmaker combat (the layout here reminds of Earthbound to me), and the classic random battles, plus the mandatory boss battles against unique opponents. Oh yes, that happens even if this is just a demo. So explore, defeat aliens to earn experience points and level up, get some cash and spend it at the robotic shop! What's lacking is the presence of an inn to recover, but hey it's such a short game that I did not need it! The game, as said before, it's a short demo and also totally linear (and not too much difficult, to be honest).

Visually is where the game shines: I like a lot the art style of this developer, surreal and colorful, but in a way that results odd, despite the game, set in space, offers what you could probably expect: evil aliens, robots, spaceships and so on! Music is a bit repetitive, while the story is good even if the shortness of the whole adventure clearly does not leave time for character development, anyway I liked how Reido is the normal girl (from Terra... that's Earth!) in a weird land and becomes our eyes and ears in this adventure (I also liked that we see her full body picture in the beginning, as a normal girl, and in the ending credits, now as a gun wielding schoolgirl ready for action). Well at least in this part.

Excuse me, HOW MUCH damage?

Final Verdict
Usagito Watashi is a cool little adventure, ok it's a demo but I judge it like an event game, done in a restrict time and with some limitations. Anyway as a demo this game made me wish for a complete adventure, because it's a nice appetizer, there are also some aspects that recalls the other games, like Ghost Suburb II, and... what else can I say? It won't last more than an hour, so if you liked these games, try this one too!
