This is just a 1/4 of the first area called Refuge Shelf, encorporating the main town Refuge, and other outlaying areas, hamlets and places of interest. I'm using the big 500 x 500 maps to give a feel of space and dimention... :-D
Wow man, those maps are huge. I'm used to building small maps, maybe no bigger than 75x75. How long did that take you?
The first make of this map was just the town of Refuge, then I decided to make the map huge... The first of (just the town in the bottom left) took about 6 days... the rest about 4 days... :-)
Dunno, it looks like there's a lot of empty space. Also, A big map like that seems a bit pointless when you consider the massive slowdown it'll have on some people's computers!
Refuge shelf is a work in progress, most of the spaces will be filled and transit over the map is teleport based, so even the spaces that you might not 'walk' over you will see when you teleport over...
I have made sure to turn on/off events as they are not needed, so at any one time approx. 20 events will be active at any time...
I have tested this game on a PC that is about the same as the basic requirements required to run RPG Maker 2003 in the first place (Thank you eBay... lol) and there was NO slow down..! :-D

Those are vines that grow at high level... It gives another layer to the map, and allows me to 'fill in' the map without giving the player more obstacles to walk around... :-)
I think it gives a more detailed map, without cluttering the floor..! :-)
