And such finely done background and monster sprites.
I hate to say this BUT
The monsters have no shadows underneath them!! I keep noticing that in a lot of games, is that there's no shadows going on. :/ I like where this is going!

the nautiloid has a shadow, behind him and to the left. Implying the directionality of the light to be from the upper right of the frame. This angle causes the shadow of the floating eye to be offscreen.
