hmm not a japanese one, but i really enjoyed 'brave new world' by huxley. it's a lot like 1984 but in my opinion more lighthearted and more futuristic-seeming... it's a classic and should be read by anyone anywhere.
also, orwell's time machine was really good! if 1984 was enjoyed, the writing will obviously be similar since it's the same author. it's also a bit more epic like the count of monte cristo, and deals with time travel (hitchhikers)....
both of those you can't really go wrong with. both short, classic and philisophical, but fun reads!

WTF, Why?
hmm... well since it's still open, i have a funny egging story:
a couple of guy i used to work with were out walking down the street one night when some kid threw an egg out their window at them. they saw it coming and CAUGHT it!! (without breaking it, of course), then threw it back and egged the guy back!!!
to make it even funnier, i found this story out because the original egg thrower started to work with us no too long after! he must have felt so stupid to see these guys again, let alone work with them!

My Christmas will consist of going to my Dad's on Christmas Eve, then returning to my Mom's on Christmas Day. Man, I miss the days where everyone would be together for Christmas. Also, my older brother who is in Taiwan won't be returning until after New Years, so that's too bad.
On the positive side, I'm very glad that I'm still 14 and on the receiving end of gift giving! :D

I don't work on my game anymore because I associate it with a particular traumatic event that has been discussed before. :'(
I might start a new one though. :-*

suggestion for winddirk: for starters, get a working avatar, then use what you've learned in this thread to put together a complete/well-constructed one with all the proper info displayed correctly on the first post.
also, if it doesn't look right, try clicking "modify" to change what you did instead of posting again and again...
