i'm new, so i don't know the place that well, but i like it so far and figure i may as well give my $0.02!
i would suggest everyone wanting to support the forum posts as much as possible. the more active a forum is, the more attractive it is to anyone who stumbles upon it.
i recently read a book called "the tipping point" (highly recommended!!). one of the topics it talked about was "the stickiness factor". once someone tries something (ie sees the forum), they have to want to come back. a billion people may as well visit and not stay and register and it still would seem empty here. this might sound trivial, but it just reminds a person to actually consider if it is worth sticking aroudn for. even if it is the same members posting a lot, it is better that there are a lot of replies to each topic.
another thing i would suggest is contests- i think this has been suggested already, but that would probably have more new page views here. provided they like what they see, it would be helpful. it seems to me like th deviantart community loves these. an actual cash prize would definitely draw people in. otherwise, just some type of award or something might be worth it to people! if someone was up for running this, it would just be a matter of spreading the contest through deviant art and other art sites.

I would say iphone before ipod touch. i think the touch is kind of a waste of money in a lot of ways.

Differential Equations! YUCK!
This type of math is used in phyics problems, only I was taking the physics courses at the same time- and did better in the application. The plain math part is just SO DRY! Some math is O.K., but this one is just torture.

Hey Guys!! I thought I'd start off my very first post with an intro!
Let's see, what can I say about myself? I've made games in rpg maker ages and ages ago, took a break, now I plan to get back into it.
I'm debating to stick with either rm2k or rm2k3, both of which I'm familiar with, or possibly get into VX. I have no idea how well that went over, I was pretty shocked/excited to see it was released, but I downloaded it and it's a bit foreign to me. I want to make a game with the map as a panorama with only a few bits and pieces of chipsets here and there. Would VX be okay for this?
Game making aside, I love music. I'm in a band and play a few different instruments. I listen to lots of different types (indie, electronic, ambient, shoegaze, rock, punk, ska, classical and other corny stuff sometimes to 8))
I love to draw. I think that's what got me into game making to begin with. My least favourite type of art that ties in with games is charset/chipset making >:(
It'd be great to get to know you guys, as game making crowds seem to be generally cool people! :D
