Elder Scrolls Online

so now they have the potential have millions of heroes of kvatch roaming the lands. naturally you'd need towns and houses and farms to support all these people. if this game is set in the first or second era, where did all the towns and people go? why would none of their doings be mentioned in any future game? now being the dragonborn, or being the hero of kvatch, or sheogorath, or the loingirdle of hammerfell is completely meaningless because so many other people will be as well.

Gay Characters

...character who outright states that he likes men...

that would just be terrible writing. you can't just have the characters come out and say exactly what they're thinking all the time. show don't tell applies to everything, not just story writing.

Secret content: How hidden is too hidden?

i have hard to find chests and items hidden inside of hidden story branches that can only be activated by doing certain things to progress the main story. story branches come from decision points within the game, and one way or another are eventually going to be found by doing different things. i did this to try and reward exploration, and replay.

Advertisement in Games

i would have them in the game for something else that exists in the game. but i abhor advertising in any real life form. the idea that people are actually paid to reduce something as complex as human thinking, and human behavior down to numbers is insulting to me. just because i fall within some 'demographic' doesn't mean i want to see the same stupid as hell commercials for things i already know exist over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

i think advertising of existing products should be limited to one year after their initial release. nobody doesn't already know that taco bell exists, and if somebody already isn't scared into buying a life alert system the first time they see it advertised, they're sure as hell not going to be convinced the second time they see it.

after a year, advertisement of an existing product/company/or service should be illegal. it's annoying, and it serves no purpose other than to shift money around. if something was a good product/service/company, it wouldn't need to be advertised because we would all know how great it is. if something isn't good enough to stand on its own legs after a year, it shouldn't exist.

What do you collect RMN?

Random Art Topic

im not much for drawing, but here's some randomness:

Your Guilty Pleasure?

i enjoy dressing up like Homestar Runner and working wrestling shows (far left) this flyer is about 3 years old by now, so it had some crap on it.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

i'm really pleased with how my Shapeshifter enemy turned out. not only was it entirely too complicated, but it actually came out working!
