Who can say? If anything, it's more likely to change,adapt, evolve and split as its done in the past.

It depends, but I don’t think it will be dying anytime soon.

With the rise of indie gaming becoming even more prevalent these days and with a brand new RPG Maker coming along very shortly to many different platforms and even some of the older ones receiving an updated English translation such as 2k and 2k3, the community won’t be dying for quite some time now...so no worries. :)
