Once you have lit the torch move to the wall of ice toward the end of the cave. There is a weak point (near the right portion of it) that you can melt with the torch.

Eiz: Check if you have the fonts "MS PGothic" and "Verdana" installed on your computer, the fact that either of those fonts are not in your system might be the cause of your issue.

This most probably means you don't have the font used in the game installed in your computer. I will check what font it is exactly as soon as I get home (at work right now) and tell you how to fix it.

You need either to train a couple of levels or complete the mission to help the elf. Then you will be able to enter the city hall.

Thanks for letting me know Eizneckam. It might have to do with your Operating System. If it is Vista or Windows 7, try using Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.
Also, you don't need to patch it if you downloaded the version that is currently up.
