[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

"Thanks."

I take the torch and try to illuminate the area above and around the entrance to see where that draft came from. Assuming nothing unexpected happens, I return the torch to Ratfest after I'm finished inspecting the area.

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

"Hey Ratfest, could I borrow your torch for a moment? I think I just noticed something, but I need some more light to investigate it."

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

Wait... Wasn't there only one other door, which was completely frozen over?

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

No, they are called daises, and they have absolutely nothing to do with daisies. Diases aren't even a thing as far as I know.
Anyway...

I turn to Ratfest.
"I faintly heard what I can only assume to be the sound of a gigantic spider dragging our unfortunate orc friend along with it for a short while before it died down. I'm afraid the sounds were too faint for me to determine in which direction it went."
"Even though it may have gone somewhere else, I don't feel at ease here. Spiders tend to return to store and eat their prey in their webs, so it might be possible that either there are more of these creatures down here or it was distracted by something else on its way here..."

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

Not daisies xD
Daises. They're like small, raised podia for things or people to stand on. Anyway, I just read back and saw that they're about 2 and a half feet tall... Not quite the cover size I'd hoped for, but it might help in a dire situation.

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

"Alright. If we're staying here we'd best prepare as best as we can."

I look around the room to see if I can notice anything that might help us during a battle or other kind of trouble.

(How tall are daises? Are they anywhere remotely tall enough for someone to take cover behind them or are they only like a foot tall?)

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

I abruptly turn around as I hear the scream echo through the passageway.

"This is bad! If that scream came from who I think it did, it means that someone - or something - else is in here and clearly doesn't shy from attacking humanoids."
"As it stands now, we don't know enough about this... whatever it might be, to know if it'd be best to return or to stake out here and prepare for whatever might come at us."
"That said, I reckon these cobwebs would make it tough for us to do battle if it does come to that, so I propose that we at least return to the previous room until we know what is out there."

I remain by the doorway and wait to see what the rest thinks.

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

"Alright then."

I put my book back in my pack and, assuming Sophie is following right behind Ratfest, I follow behind Sophie as we head to the next room.

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

"Ratfest, I understand that you want to press on, but you shouldn't just barge off when others are still busy; you'll risk splitting up the group one day. Just be patient and wait until everyone's finished. We've only just entered this place after all, we still have plenty of time."

While the rest is still busy examining the artefacts in the room, I figure I might as well skim through my herbology guide to see if I can find some info on other plants that might grow in the surrounding area.

[FORUM GAME] Rise of the Highlander

"Wow, you sure made that look like child's play Adira! I guess my paws aren't quite suited to gathering this stuff."
"Now then, I believe we've done all there is to do here, haven't we? I mean, sure, there's that phial, but if what Ratfest says is true, I'd rather stay far away from it."

I walk towards Ratfest by the door to the next area and wait to see if the rest wants to press on too.
