Facing another hard-drive crash, with the last backup 3-4 weeks old. Does the universe want to keep me in development hell forever? =_=

Time for a new computer/laptop. Your hard drive is nearing the end of its lifespan.

I've never backed up my files... that's proooooobably a recipie for disaster!
I was getting into a good rhythm of backing up all RPGMaker/Personal stuff every 3-4 days. Figures that when I started slacking off, something awful happens. XD

You're magical to me.

;_; Yeah, that's rough! I try to back up at least once a week because I'm totally worried something like this will happen. It's never fun to lose data, and I'm sorry to hear that it set you back!
EVERY TIME I make a change to one of my games, I back it up. You can even use your RMN locker, since the size of the RPG Maker stuff that you have to back up is usually pretty small. (Maps, scripts, .pngs) In that case, I would just hope that RMN is on a RAID system so that it backs itself up.
That's a good idea, Zach! XD

For anyone on this site who's more savvy with hardware stuff; what's a good option in terms of professional file-recover for harddrives, besides the obvious like Best Buy etc? Is it a safe bet that the files can be recovered, or does it really vary case-by-case?

This reminds me to back up after doing some pretty decent work recently >_<;

Yeah, really.

Raise your hand if you made a backup today (゜Q゜)ノ
This must be a timeline in which you can't finish your game - be happy! WW3 doesn't happen in this history.

==___==

It'll be finished. But uh, I can't help but feel as though the deck has been stacked against me over the years. ;__; (I'm probably not alone though)

If anything, this will teach me to make daily backups. XD I'm bringing the computer into a specialist tomorrow, so fingers crossed!

It really varies case-by-case, so really fingers crossed on that. Good luck!

Back it up to cloud, flash drive, external hard drive, anything. As long as you back up!
