BLINKSTER'S PROFILE
I'm Blinkster! I'm from Sweden but I've been studying English for nearly four years so it should be okay. I enjoy video games, puzzles, history, soccer, and writing.

February update! o.0
You do good! I played the demo. Noish is my favorite character and he seems to have a lot of mixed emotions about what's happening around him.

Help on Tile Set E on RPG MAKER VX?
I think this is what you mean. You just find the tileset you want and place it inside your "Tileset" folder in your game's folder and name the file TileE!
Random screenshots gave me inspiration
I took inspiration from several games here for my mapping so I guess one could say I inspire from screenshots.
What is the Biggest Design Flaw in Games?
It is good thing that I started this thread. Maybe this will help some of the other developers, myself included, to watch out for some of the design flaws mentioned!

Actually, Radnen, this looks pretty unique in my opinion.
Also, this looks pretty well made too, as it's not exactly 'bare'; it's just right. Though I think it could do with a cupboard/wardrobe/etc.
I'll try and interest the interiors more and more. It's all a work in progress.
Also, image changed!

author=dezz123author=CorfaisusActually, you can set tile movement direction in RMVX, however you'd need the Tileset Editor to do so which you can get from Famitsu, TKool and the official Enterbrain! site too.author=KaempferI checked on this shortly before writing my usual solution, and it seems that's just one more thing Enterbrain decided not to include in VX.
Can't you set tile movement direction in RMVX?
I did a little editing for the player's home and it's been divided into a upper and lower floor. That way, the bedroom is up atop. I used a method of my own to ensure the player can't jump upon the stairs but it works!

The Treasure of Fenglade
I'll do my best to make the characters entertaining. I'll try to have more screenshots, including dialogue, soon!
The Treasure of Fenglade

Is the treasure of Fenglade some kind of heart felt letter explaining how the real treasure is your friends and family, and the sense of adventure which draws people closer?
Hopefully not. :P
The story sounds interesting, but I can't really make much of the screenshots, as they are not that varied.
But good luck with you game!
I'll check back to look for a solid demo.
EDIT: If you don't want a behemoth of a game, then I'd stick to your original storyline.
Have the entire plot span out in the town and under it in the dungeons, etc.
That way you can keep it short and sweet without too much outside exploration.
Besides, less work...amirite x.x
It's not a heart felt story of companionship, loyalty, honorable deeds, etc. I mean, see the characters! A young boy, brute of a pirate, a corrupted knight, and a dumb guard. How would they be friends? I think it'll be more interesting this way and different.
The Treasure of Fenglade
author=Ben_Randomauthor=BlinksterIn VX there are event graphics which have multi-colored glowing orbs. You should make three temples across the world. One for each orb. These orbs are required to unlock the treasure. You should make the other orbs optional, giving the player different ability's which will aid him on his quest.
I'll take this into consideration! I was thinking of having the player journey into a separate area to fight a very powerful enemy to obtain a key, scroll, etc. in order to reach the last room that would contain the treasure. I definitely like putting emphasis on exploration and there will definitely be some.
Also, a good sequel title:
"The Treasure of Flengade 2, The Curse of Flengade." {The titles pretty self-explanitory.}
I like this suggestion too. I'll consider them both. Although I would like to get the first one out before discussing a sequel. Small steps first. Plus, I don't have plans to make this a multi-hour game but instead, just one or two, possibly three.
