Release Something! Day Discussion thread
Release Something! Day [FOR REALZ this time]
My something isn't actually a game. I have been working on quite a few pixelfonts lately and I thought I'd share them with the community.

There are three fonts, Navcom One, Navcom Mini, and Snarpee Gee. You can copy them from that image if you like or download the .bmp files.
They are formatted for use in this handy program called Bitmap Font Writer, which will take pixelfonts you draw into the proper template (separating characters with one pixel of a neon colour) and then you type in what you want in a textbox and it spells it for you and gives you an image for your clipboard, so you can paste the preformatted text as an image to a picture file. If you're doing stuff like custom menus and message systems and need to keep replicating the alphabet for pictures, this program eliminates A LOT of your copy-paste work.
You can download Bitmap Font Writer here:
http://www.stefan-pettersson.nu/site/bmpfont/
And here are the fonts that I made that are set for use in the program (its easy to use I don't think anymore help is really nescessary, just put these bitmaps into your "../Bitmap Font Writer/fonts" folder.)

These fonts are free for any use and distribution without giving credit, but please do not present them to others as your own work.

LISTEN UP! Some suggestions.
[EVERYONE READ] Posting, and the Main Site.
If someone doesn't have something interesting to add, I don't see any reason why they should post. There are a lot of times when I think about posting and I don't, just because I have nothing new or constructive to add to any conversation. Quoting someone else's post and poking my head in with a snarky remark will only go so far, and I think that its fine that most people think tis way, because we don't want our forums turning into a blithering mess of "First post haha!" and "wow nice screens" or "downloading" or "wow peeyew".
Release Something! Day III: Demo Day Edition [June 20th, 2008]
I've got a whole lot of nothing going on until friday, so at the very least you will see pixelart and chipsets meandering out from the shady enclave that is my neck of the woods.
