Bug Reports

Hoping this isn't another dumb error on my part, but...are magicite stat boosts supposed to happen every level? If so, I think they aren't working correctly on out-of-party members. I have Carbuncle on Orophin and he's not in the main party right now, and when he leveled up he didn't get any spirit.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

I got an error ingame, didn't screenshot it in time, but the wasteland battle background resource is missing. Nothing gamebreaking, I just fought battles on a black background when next to the river on the desert continent.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Oh, no, gil is pretty well balanced, especially with all the adventurer guild quests giving plenty of it. I just wanted to see how other people deal with it, whether their solution is "only equip a core party of 4/5/6" or "rotate party members" or whatnot. I didn't think to sell elixirs, though, which should alleviate that. I just got to Aquaria.

Audio File Issue Right Before First Boss

No problem, I had saved right before so it was barely an issue. I extracted it with 7zip.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

How are people typically handling equipment? I find the thing that takes me most out of the game so far is coming to a new shop and suddenly having to equip 10+ party members. I can safely skip the party members I have little interest in ever using (blue mage, dark knight), but I always feel like I should equip everyone else, even the people I only rarely bring in (bard, skyseer, paladin), just in case they'll be useful coming up, which really puts the hurt on my wallet.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

A note to anyone wondering why Cassie seems so worthless: you CAN multi-target (certain?) spells! It just doesn't work like in mainline FF games, by pressing back against the back of the party. There's a different key for it (RB/LB in my case, on a 360 controller.). This game's weird nonstandard controls keep messing me up, since they don't seem to be documented, but otherwise I'm really enjoying it so far.

Audio File Issue Right Before First Boss

I experienced the problem, which is weird, since my non-Unicode language is set to Japanese.

Running W7 Ultimate.

The big list of recent changes (current and upcoming).

Can I add my vote toward really, really wanting control of random encounters? Bravely Default's system was glorious. Needing to backtrack in JRPGs is always horrid since you have to sit through a bunch of random battles that are too weak to give you any meaningful reward, yet they still waste a whole bunch of time and make you frustrated with the game overall. I think adding a warning when you get the moogle charm that keeping it on all the time will make the game difficult (and impossible after a certain point) and that it should be used with caution would be enough to deter newbies from painting themselves into corners.

(While I'm at it, an accessory to double encounter rate for when I'm, say, trying to grind out a particular DNA strand would also be pretty neat.)

edit: Also, if you've played Bravely Default, you know the game was no less crushingly difficult at many points just because it let you skip random encounters when you didn't want them.

The Tower of Dogrock

Is there no way to heal up the party? I'm to the first boss, but both characters are really low in HP and MP, and food heals kind of pitiful amounts, so I don't stand a chance against him.

In Search of Immortality Review

I'll go in and remove the actual name, then, if that's a point of contention; it was mostly just shorthand so I didn't have to write out any more of his games, because they have a distinctive gameplay style.

Honestly, I really liked the way the mirror scene was implemented, scripting-wise, it was just some of the actual content ("PUDDING TRULY CARES ABOUT YOU" etc) that came off a tad awkward. Keep up the good work!
