Tutorial: How to steal like a Hero
There is already a fantastic steal script out there, kentona, that you can customize to have set percents of steal rate, use a relative AGI formula, a mixture of both, and increase/decrease steal rates with equipment.
If you're still using rm2k3, though, this is an excellent script! I love opening chests in Hero's Realm. =D

5 Most Common Writing Pitfalls
McDohl, this is pretty solid article, and it's shorter than the cover article of a TIME. As such, good job on this! Tying in well-known examples and pointing out issues/good ideas is fantastic.
Character Color Problem
Import an image named "Title" into your Graphics/System folder.
For the SBS, cut out a single character's walking animation set (a 3x4 frame set of graphics of the same character) and save it in the Graphics/Character folder with a money sign ($) in front. This will make the image the walking set for a SINGLE ACTOR, which is what the SBS requires.
Example filename: $Penelo.png
MODIFY: Oh, yeah; the character's set graphic in the database has to be that $graphic in order to be used in battle; the image by itself in the /Character folder isn't enough.

Bonds of Friendship?
Well, you have to realize that in its early stages, RMN was basically #rm2k's second offical website, whether that was holb's intention or not. For the uninformed, #rm2k was/is (hah) an IRC channel that had/has (huh) a handful of elitist prickscool dudes that... well, I don't want to upset anybody!
Anyway, due to this a lot of members here are already well-acquainted with one another.
As for MYSELF, I enjoy chatting with WIP and Brick and FD and so on via AIM, but I really talk mostly to harmonic and especially Karsuman. trance2 and I talk when we can as well, but our schedules don't mesh up I guess so our conversations tend to come in bursts.
In the REAL WORLD I tend to make references to those people (WIP, Brick, FD, harm, Karsu, trance), as well as to maladroit him because ofhis nosehow wonderful and charming he is.
Whenever I see a squirrel I think of Sei despite not talking to him in forever.

@Craze- Do your characters really have stats?
Yes. They have Hit Points (how much damage you can sustain), Muscle Points (how much energy you can exert without resting or using drugs), Melee Def%, Ranged Def%, Spell Def% (the last three are all percentage decreases in damage taken), Brawn (physical attack power), Wisdom (ability to heal), Mana (determines power of attack spells beyond their base), Accuracy (chance of hitting an enemy with melee attacks; factored into skill hit rates but has less of an impact ), Evasion (chance to dodge enemy attacks and skills), and Critical (chance of an attack, spell or heal to be twice as effective).

What do you think makes an RPG?
pantsman, RPGs are about numbers. Without numbers, your precious little Sasukes and Uzukis could not be playable; they would be nothing but part of a story in which you press <A> to turn the page. RPGs have numbers in order to simulate their strengths and weaknesses and (this is best part) to kill things YES.

Max
Don't ever say that again.
Also, harm, you feel great for five seconds because that white magic spell you cast on Celes was absorbed by her sword then reflected by her shield back at you
then you realize that you have white magic on you.

What do you think makes an RPG?
To me, an RPG is most importantly numbers with emotions attached. Etrian Odyssey and its sequel are great games because there are very solid numbers attached to portraits that I get waaaay more attached to than Yuri and Shinzo and Naruto and Sasuka and Cheeri and .
