Technoviking as playable class = win!

As for the Pokerface's final skill, maybe give another skill an effect that increases a counter, or have the counter be increased by some other means, like, I dunno, getting hit? That counter represents a number of dice. Then the final skill has 6 possible effects, with one of them being negative, to keep with the gambling theme. All dice are rolled and spent when you use the skill, and you get the effects you rolled out of it.

This has an interesting dynamic. Rolling more dice at once increases the ammount of side effects you are likely to get, and by virtue of that also increases the likelihood of rolling the negative effect.

As Kyle's eyes adjust to the darkness, he can see an animated skeleton in front of him. Undead creatures are really not his area of expertise. In fact, this was the first time hw was faced with one of the undead. Still, while his knowlege about the undead was nowhere near his knowlege of beasts, he did know a few facts about them.

One of those facts was that undead with more flesh remaining are of better quality. What was in front of him was a mere skeleton, moved only by the magic that was animating it, with no muscles to add power or precision to its movements. As far as undead were concerned, this one was pretty much of the lowest quality possible. Maybe it had been animated as a more useful zombie, but corpse animation magic does not stop the decomposition process. After enough time passed, all that would remain would be bones held together by magic.

Though the enemy being a skeleton did make things hard for Kyle. His bow was useless, as arrows wouldn't be able to pierce the bones and they could just fly off between two of them is it was a particularily unlucky shot. His sword, as a slashing weapon with balanced weight, wouldn't be able to do much damage to bones either. The perfect weapon for this situation would be something blunt and weighted at the striking end, capable of shattering bone. A mace.

Still, Kyle would have to make do with what he had avaliable. On closer analysis, the skeleton had armor, but with key parts of it missing, including the chest parts. It was apparently left-handed, armed with an old rusty sword and carrying no shield. This revealed a gaping hole in its defense, something Kyle could take advantage of. He drew his sword from its sheath, with a plan of attack formulated.

ACTION: Kyle dashes towards the skeleton's unprotected right side, outside of the reach of the skeleton's sword, and attempts to strike the skeleton's center of gravity, using the force from both his arm swing and his sprint, hoping that the force of the impact would knock the skeleton off balance, possibly even damaging it, like knocking a bone off its joint.

One of the first bosses in my game. The location is not final. I think the outlines are still a bit too strong compared to the other sprites.

And maybe alter the PC sprite a bit as well. She needs more contrast. Characters and other things you interact with should pop. With those dull colors, it's hard to tell she's important. Hell, in that specific screenshot, she looks like she doesn't have a left arm, ith it looking so much like the grass. Those frogs and spiders(?) seem to have the right level of contrast for the ambient I think you're going for.

AMMENDED ACTION:Walk carefully into room 3, trying to reach the center of the room and the box-like objects, feeling his way until he can touch something.

[Poll] Pixelized, cartoony, or realistic?

You're asking the wrong question. You're asking "What is the best graphic style?" You should be asking "Which graphic style best fits this specific game?"

As Kyle approached the next room, he heard a strange voice, seemingly mocking the group. He listened, and at the end of the speech the doors and windows slammed shut. The voice's last words echoed in Kyle's head. One hour. And now there was even less light in the room.

Luckily, there was a square hole in the ceiling of the next room that allowed some light to fill the room. In the middle of the room were some cubic structures with wat seemed like bird heads decorating them. There didn't seem to be any obvious traps in the area, and with a countdown ticking, there wasn't really that much time to dust it carefully.

ACTION: Inspect the boxes in the center of the room.

When in an unknown place, it's always a good idea to get a sense of your surroundings. The crystal was the most notable thing, but seeing his partner insvestigateing it, Kyle decided to leave that to him.

The cow had landed somewehre inside the ruins, on another floor. Though it was probably only a bunch of guts splattered across a room now, in no condition to be eaten. And as the human mind tends to want what it can't have, Kyle was now craving a steak.

But enough distractions. The new location needed to be investigated. There were two ways out of the room. The wall behind the crystal looked to be in poor condition, but still in a decent enough state to not crumble with a simple push.

ACTION: Look into Room 3.

"Believe me, I want to get off this damn island as much as you. But for all we know, we might be staying here for a while, so I thought it would be wise to get some food before setting off."

Kyle picks up the remaining apples and turns to Cadeon again.

"Yeah, let's go after those two. I don't really trust them to not do something stupid. Let's make sure they stay safe."

ACTION: Go along with Cadeon looking for the other two, while staying on the lookout for anything of interest.

The rope was not the sturdiest. It was evem mildly surprising that it didn't just snap when the chest was pulled out. Still, rope is rope, and you never know when it might be useful.

With the rope over his shoulder, Kyle walked back to where he left the apples. After putting two of the apples in the pockets of his jacket, he spoke to the large man again.

"I think it'd be good if we exchanged names. I can't keep calling you Hey You forever. I'm Kyle, by the way."

He then looked into the distance, at the temple.

"If those two are smart, they went on along the river. We could catch up with them when they stop to rest. What do you think?"

DELAYED ACTION: Kyle waits until Cadeon's action to take his own.
