In the summer vacations, I went and made a scorpion, as I predicted that I would need to sprite in the future, and I hadn't done so in years.
Not really satisfied with it, but got my muscles warmed up. Should've probably used a more white highlight color as well, orange doesn't really work for glossy shines.
More recently I did this blue ball:
Not bad, especially since I used only Photoshop's default palette here.
Player sprite for a shmup. Ended up making it way smaller than I wanted, but I liked how the sprite came out. Had a custom palette at first, but I saw dragonheartman's mention of DawnBringer's palette and tried it out. Red looked too pinkish at first, but I stuck with it and liked it enough to discard my previous palette.
Scaled up. I don't like this one as much. Turns out smaller sprites are way easier to make.
And here's some recolors of the small sprite, both because I wanted to get used to the DB palette and test its limits, and because the context of the game I had in mind when I made this actually requires the ship to change colors.

What are you thinking about right now?
Presidential elections
This outcome pleases me. Romney has shown time and time again during his campaign that he is unfit to rule. I'd call him a sellout, but I'm afraid I would offend sellouts if I did that.
I'm actually curious to see how a second term Obama will work. Now that he doesn't have to worry about winning the next election, he can piss off the right people. He's gone into his final form. Time will tell if that will have any impact. At least we know who's going to be in charge when a large portion of the supreme court retires.
Also, has anyone else seen Donald Trump's descent into madness on Twitter? He's gone from saying that no matter who wins, we have to work together to save the country to calling for a revolution.
And youn say this right after saying we should collaboratewih whoever wins. I would lose some of my respect for you, if I had any left.
If by "us" you mean you and Mitt Romney, yes, we are. But I think you didn't mean it that way. We are certainly not laughing at your country. We're glad you chosse the moderate right-wing candidate instead of the extremist, at least in Europe. European politics are much more left leaning that over there. Actually, it's more like the the other way around.
Quit being a sore loser, asshole! I guess the democracy only works when your side wins...
At least we agree on something. But I have a feeling that if Romney won you'd be saying the electoral college is one of democracy's greatest assets.
Really... And now you're yet again saying that the correct course of action is to make Obama's life harder out of thinly disguised spite. Real classy. Also, the rest of the civilized world sees health care as one of the marks of a developed country and so far the US have been shameful on that front. Obamacare at least is a step in the right direction. I'm so sorry that part of the helth care of those subhuman beings known as poor people will have to come out of your pocket, but we all have to make sacrifices, even demigods.
I wish I could punch him.

author=Donald Trump, before the election
Whoever wins today, remember that tomorrow we still have a country struggling. Our work is not done until America is strong again.
author=Donald Trump, after the election
We can't let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided!
And youn say this right after saying we should collaboratewih whoever wins. I would lose some of my respect for you, if I had any left.
author=But wait, there's more
Lets fight like hell and stop this great and disgusting injustice! The world is laughing at us.

author=And again...
This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy!
Quit being a sore loser, asshole! I guess the democracy only works when your side wins...
author=Ugh...
Our country is now in serious and unprecedented trouble...like never before.
author=Oh, look at this one.
The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.
At least we agree on something. But I have a feeling that if Romney won you'd be saying the electoral college is one of democracy's greatest assets.
author=I'm starting to pity him...
Hopefully the House of Representatives can hold our country together for four more years...stay strong and never give up!
author=Seriously, someone lock him up somewhere where he can get help.
House of Representatives shouldn't give anything to Obama unless he terminates Obamacare.

Star Wars Episode VII (as well as VIII and IX!)
Palpatine's dead. You don't survive getting thrown into the Death Star's reactor, and if there's something I don't want, it's the clone bullshit in the EU.
Games we need to get over
What areas of RPG making really hinder your project?
If that is the case, I'll have to say that DAMN Operating Systems project. That circular buffer can go @&#$ itself.
What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

Should I really be spending all this time agonizing over level design when no one is going to play the damn game, or like it if they do?
I say yes. Because I won't be satisfied otherwise.
Well, nobody's going to play your game or like it if you don't invest in level design, that I know.

I heard that ILM is also now owned by Disney.
See my previous post for clarification on this. An internet aquaintance of mine works at ILM and was asked if he now worked for Disney on Facebook. That was his answer.
And yeah, Lucasfilm is Lucasfilm. It's not just Star Wars that got bought. It's everything.
