most of them several times, but no clue how often
many others played to end parts and quit to play better games (:p), like ff 2 4
i quit magna carta about midgame. it looked beautiful back then, and has an interesting battle system. after a while though, you hit everything you want anyway and input gets tedious. also, equipment bothered me. didn't believe the 6/10 review when looking at it, but the shoe actually fits.
I find it interesting too see people complain about rogue galaxy discs. it's my third ps2 since it's release and it's wearing down so no. 4 incoming.
the first disc ever to start trouble, even when duallayers/dvd9 still work is always rogue galaxy *lol* this game makes for perfect measure of your laser adjustment :D

Which game developers do you trust?
The second developer is Bethesda.
Woa...
they've rarely ever put a foot wrong.
I'm not sure I can agree to this. afaik they swallowed id who used to pioneer the fps sector with really great titles, mainly quake. Now, quakelive as a tribute to mr. carmack and the fanbase pretty much flopped due to concept errors (f2p through advertising failure; moderation and censoring of everything to receive a T in an absolute adult game; complete company control and no modding or hosting chances at all; no lan compatibility etc. pp.). It's still somewhat alive, but never has been good. And it's not really f2p either, since the standard users are very much forced into paying. Not as bad as "pay 2 win", but definitely not entertaining compared to the 13 year old original quake 3.
Any "new" projects this devision comes up with, like rage (I think belongs to them) disapoint, too. According to the community, Bethesda is majorly in charge of the cons, not id themselves.
Their games always sell in droves upon droves, and absolutely nobody can deny the high quality of their games.
I don't know what else they worked on (appearently great stuff, I don't wanna disagree), but for ql and rage, I totally am in denial :p
The fact that Bethesda shrugs and lets their players basically do ANYTHING they want with the creation tools, almost negating anything Bethesda could do in some cases, is great of them as well. The fact that Bethesda treats the modding community as such an integral and important part of their playerbase is really worth noting.
Again, for my mentioned games that is absolutely not the case. quakelive is an fps where you can't host servers yourself, mod or map anything at all :D
Not enough developers do that these days, with many of them taking the Apple approach and saying, "No, you're not allowed to tinker with our product.
exactly what they did there ^^
The only one I "trust" to this day is rockstar, since they don't ruin big franchises I love by changing the formula completely and think it's all "progress" (like capcom with resident evil and squareenix doesn't take the best direction either). This can be wrong and they did a bunch of crap, I only relate to games I personally care for ^^
It's good to adopt and try changes, but forgetting about everything people loved - and put rpgs on EXTREME rails, or remove the survival-horror atmosphere from a survival-horror game and make it simple action - seems wrong to me.
Yet companies do that, so end of the day... I don't really trust a single one blindly xD
What are you thinking about right now?
Having some trouble in RPG Maker VX ACE
Well, what I was just wondering is wether you did it with pictures (probably not when mentioning text boxes?), if vx ace has some sort of "Intro feature" implented, use of scripts, simple events etc. pp.
Again, I have no clue of vx ace, so no reason to comment in the first place (other than trying to help despite being nub) :D
Wouldn't see a reason for an auto-run event
"show text: blabla
show text: blabla
show text: blabla
show text: blabla"
not working :p xD

*Peaks Around the Corner* Hi...
Having some trouble in RPG Maker VX ACE
Before commenting I have to point out I didn't check ace yet and therefore could be very wrong. Nevertheless it seems to me that the information on what you did and where the problem can be located is rather vague.
why? :D
kind of hard to explain
why? :D
Breath of Fire 6 announced, but...what the fuck?
Phew, good thing I didn't really enjoy the franchise a whole lot anymore (since 2 which was awesome and 3 which got the job done), and despite wishing for a revival not expecting it.
No need to get upset over my prepaid mobile unable to run this ^^
That and only that is my pov.
Gameboy was fine since Tvs weren't that huge either, maybe not having your own tv, regular 3 hour drives in the backseat, unoccupied lessons at school, 20 minute walks even for short distances - now all I could possibly think of is break at work (which I wouldn't wanna spent playing) xD
I guess it can still be good for other people, but I doubt projects like these reach high quality levels :)

Trihan's "Make me a script" topic!
Heya. I don't really need any script for projects (since I always end up killing 'em anyway :D) right now, but uh... since I finally found some able and "willing" to do so, I would love to request a few "fast and easy learning scripts" :p
Could you maybe, after taking care of more important tasks hook me up with the first one? I was thinking of "drawing on top of your screen via script (no pictures other than maybe a font reference or what's necessary)). Somithing easy like
"Hello, world" constantly displayed in the upper right corner would do. All I desire it to be is short, easy and understable so I can modify it :P
Come to think of it, on my last attempts I modified the timer a little to make it fit a daytime/nighttime system. Going that direction again would be sweet, since it showed me several possibilities (changing textposition via x,y , making it smaller/bigger , some other font and most of all, replace the variables. I could have all my variables visible during playtests and thereby notice errors in their configuration).
suggestion learning script 1 - drawing variables in a string:
while trigger (lets say switch/variable/younameit 0001:timeofday) is active, draw "value of variable 0002:value of variable 0003" in the upper right corner at a given font, size, and color. Variable 0002:hour would be 0-23 and 0003:minute 0-59.
When trigger is not active stop drawing/ remove the text (maybe after wrecking your ship the currents take you to an underground dungeon which you wonder for days without having any sense of time, lol).
Since it's for learning purpose, a few commentary notes whereever you deem helpful would appreciated. You can put them right next to the code and comment them out.
How do you comment something out for that matter :D
ps: current engine is rmxp trial, but since I don't expect to this anytime soon and am planning swinging to vx ace right after... vx ace/rgss3 it is :)

Why your name?
I wouldn't say mine on here is "different", since it's my initials and year of birth xD
names despite DR i often use are
"Alucard" (Hellsing anime), "Vagnard" (Record of lodoss war) and "Verizon" (I think the sound of it is cool and "made that up myself". Didn't even know it is a provider until people kept telling me. Actually, I had never heard the word at the time I choose the nick ^^)
