Progress Report #6: Moving On! Intro Cutscene / Maps / 'n Stuff

Congrats on the job! I mean, of course it means less time to work on the game but with a job you get money and references, which makes the future less volatile.

Demo Version 4 is up!!

When you set up your patreon, also try to have some way for people to make a one-time payment to you. Some people (like me) aren't reliable patreons because we do contract work or something similar. Making a lump sum donation, you still get your money and we don't get the grief of having to cancel a month or two down the road.

Sadly it'll be many moons before I can play this version. Damn just not enough time:(

Secret's Out Ch. I

I skipped all the spoiler stuff but it's awesome to see a solid plan now.

Thought I was dead? Patch 1.4 released!

Good work. Absolute dedication.

Progress Report #4: Cutscene and gameplay structure complete... in VX Ace

So hyped right now!

THANK YOU, GUYS!

Congrats! Well, a little in advance but meh.

A little video with some new features :-)

-Loved arrows. Ever since Xenosaga I've always loved RPGs that allow you to weight combat before it starts.
-Laughed my ass off at the trap. I would've screamed "HAH! RETRIBUTION!" if I were playing.
-I gotta admit, when it flipped the coin for necromancy I wondered how many takes it took before you got Heads. Great animation though.

Very late suggestion: Depending on the mood it may be worth changing "new ghoul friend" to something less whimsical.

Ya know what Youtube needs to add? The thumbs up/down option on embedded videos. I just open a new tab to Like but I imagine most people won't bother.

Tea Party Steam store page!

Thanks for letting us know and congrats on the great victory.

As an avid TRPG player myself, I know a lot of tricks of the trade like putting a high Def guy at the outer range of an enemy's movement, then trouncing him when he gets close. The AI can still be cheesed (especially by high level magic), but I'm trying to foil the usual tactics :p
That's wonderful to hear. I feel that, without a huge team of skilled AI programmers, getting a good enough AI to compensate for player tactics is an unrealistic expectation so just accounting for it with pre-scripted triggerable stuff works well.

I'm also strongly for the "small hiccups" approach. Too many of them throw a giant pile of shit right into the turbine while the player is sitting on the other end with his mouth wide open. It has a place, especially in the darker story settings, but all too often I'd rather have been faced with a series of smaller problems that kept stuff interesting. It's still difficulty-boosting, just in a different way that I find more fun. Save the "the enemy's top general with his 4 sub generals and 12 units of elite guards suddenly appear right on your backside" for the final missions.
